Alvin and Isaac were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, offering insight along the way and sharing their culture. I would recommend this company as they give back to the community while also offering a fantastic service!

What an AMAZING trek experience and accomplishment thanks to AE!!! I did the 4d/3n classic Inca Trail in Jan and would do it again! From the start, AE was great at communicating with me and their online site has all the necessary info. We met our guide, Saul G, at the pre-trek meeting where he briefed us. They picked me up at my hostel the morning of; the bus was nice, spacious, clean. We had a 1.5h drive to restrooms then to the AE site where we had packed our duffel bags, had a nice bfast, and got to know each other. Each day’s hike was intense but BEAUTIFUL and there were multiple breaks to rest, use the restroom, buy things from the locals on the trail, or for Saul to share his knowledge. When we arrived at our campsites, they were set up and we even had water bowls to wash up with or soak our feet in. The porters were IMPRESSIVE as they carried our bags, ran the trail, and still had positive attitudes and energy during down time. All meals on the trip were SO delicious and abundant in food! Our chef, Mijail, was incredible and even (somehow) baked me a cake for my bday! Our second guide, Victor Sumo, was also so great! All staff were respectful, kind, helpful and supportive if we were having a tougher time on some parts of the trail, and always willing to engage in conversation. The day of Machu Picchu was wonderful and, although there were strikes and changes and we weren’t sure which plan we’d have to take, Saul made sure we had plans and kept us SAFE and in the loop. I did this trip solo but came out of it with a little family. If you’re thinking about doing the hike, DO IT! And make sure you do it through AE!!!

Unbelievable organization of the classic Inca Trail hike by Alpaca Expeditions. It is amazing what these guys are able to do! Our guides Nilton and Marcela were top notch professionals - very informative, motivational and supportive, always lifting up the spirit of the group. Chef Armando was incredible, the food we ate in the camping site was comparable to a restaurant level food and he did all this with very limited resources in the wild. Our porters led by Elmer were superhumans who made all of this possible. Big respect and thank you to the whole team.

Wow, wow, wow! What an incredible experience with an absolutely outstanding organisation from start to finish. We were so pleased to have chosen Alpaca Expeditions for our 4D/3N Inca Trail hike. The hiking was tough going, but absolutely stunningly beautiful, and the guides Russel and Jean Carlos were excellent in every way. My husband got quite sick on the walk and both guides supported him immensely with medical guidance and help walking when feeling unwell. Russel's knowledge and explanation of the different Inca sites on the route was outstanding - he told us so many interesting stories and informative pieces of information throughout the hike. We can't thank all the Alpaca team enough who were on our trek. The porters were just incredible and the food was amazing!! Our chef Wilfred prepared us the most delicious meals - we couldn't believe how he could make such tasty meals in a small tent kitchen - we were so impressed. Our 4 days were a magical experience we'll never forget. Thank you Alpaca!

We had a I would highly recommend Apaca Expeditions. We did the 4 day / 3 night hike to Machu Picchu. We were well cared for the entire trip. Juan Carlos our guide made sure everyone had a great experience. All of our meals were provided and the food was amazing! One of our group members had his flight get canceled so he arrived on the morning of the hike. Alpaca arranged for him a direct ride from the airport so he could still join us. I have nothing but good things to say about Alpaca Expeditions.

I had the most incredible experience on my 4D/3N Inca Trail Trek with our guides Fletcher and Henry. The trek was a challenging 26 miles, but our guides made sure that our entire group was able to not only complete it, but also have a very enjoyable time throughout. They impressively coordinated the logistics of many moving parts, target times, and hiking speeds. I also really enjoyed all they shared Inca history, culture, and flora/fauna along the way. The chef and porter team were incredible. They made camp life wonderful, which allowed me to take my time enjoying the trail and all the incredible nature and ruins along the way. They cooked and served the most delicious food, the perfect meals to experience Peruvian cuisine and refuel for the next hike. The food was so fresh and well made, I can’t believe they baked fresh cakes and cracked fresh eggs for omelets in the mountains. Thank you to the entire team for showing me the beauty of Peru and the Inca Trail.

Was very impressed with this tour Company. My group did our trek November 11-14, 2023. As a first time traveler to Peru and the Andes mountains I could not think of a better introduction to see the Incan Trail and Machu Picchu. Our trek of 3 nights of the classic Incan Trail in my opinion was flawless experience all things considered. I want to give a big shoutout to our chef Simon and all the porters! The meals were delicious. Simon and his assistants did a great job! Our guides Javi and Valentin went above and beyond for everyone in our group. Great guys! They made it a lot of fun and shared with us stories and history of the region. It is definitely a challenging hike to do the classic Incan trail especially at this altitude. I definitely recommend the basics of preparing physically and eating extra healthy to be doing this trek. It is very doable for the majority of people in half way decent shape. Good hydration is something to take seriously. You will not appreciate the experience in the same way without the physical challenge of being out in the nature for 3 days trekking. Really awesome to see the variety of microclimates throughout the trail. Alpaca Expeditions is a great business and they hire really awesome people! I have all positive things to say. In conversation with people about visiting Machu Picchu I will always remember this tour company.

Javier and Henry were amazing tour guides. They were very informative and were able make the group laugh on multiple occasions. They treated us like a family while with them. 100% recommend this tour. The food was very good! Thanks to our chef Jovel, and you never felt hungry after the meal. The views you see and the information they provide gave me a new respect for the Inca culture. A wonderful, challenging adventure that makes you feel very accomplished by the end of it.

Our experience on the Inca trail with Alpaca Expeditions was almost flawless, and I'd offer my highest recommendation to book this experience with them. The trail can be tough at spots and not showering for three days was an experience, but we were always well looked after and safe. Our guides Juan Carlos and Johan were exceptional! Super informative, helpful, and created a family from a group of strangers after just one day. The chef's made delicious, local dishes and the food was plentiful. We can't say thank you enough times for how amazing everyone was. The porters were all so nice and humble. They clapped for us every time we walked into camp and everything was always set up and ready to go. They are so efficient! All our best to the team and pachamama.

I came across Alpaca Expedition on Pinterest and upon reaching out I quickly received feedback. My schedule was a little tight and they were able to accommodate. The two tour guides, Russell & Henry, were personable, knowledgeable, and a great time. They took note of everyone’s pace and adjusted to assure we arrived at the same time. The porters were beyond impressive ensuring we arrived for lunch and dinner ready to relax. Every night was more impressive as the chef, Mario, made delicious meals inspired by Peruvian cuisine. I can’t recommend them enough.

We had the best time with Alpaca Expeditions! We did the 4D/3N Inca Trail with Alex and Humberto, who were the best guides. The entire team is comprised of locals to the Cusco Valley, and are very knowledgeable about the entire trail! Would highly recommend!

Absolutely amazing trip! Could not recommend Alpaca any more. Our tour guides, Javi and Humberto, were incredible; both very knowledgeable, helpful, and fun. Both made the hike a breeze and made us feel extremely taken care of. Also, as someone who has many food allergies, the chef Walter took my restrictions very seriously and made sure I felt comfortable at every meal. Had a blast and really it was all thanks to Alpaca!

I did the 4D3n Inca trail hike with Alpaca Expedition and if I can sum in one word "awesome". Their attention to details was exceptional. Our guides Russell and Rosalindo were super always there for us. Big kudos to our chef for preparing such sumptuous food and all the porters who took those heavy bags up and down the hill. They were amazing. Thank you to the Alpaca team for making this an epic experience one never to forget.

I am from Canada and did the 5N/5D Salkantay Trek - I could not recommend Alpaca Expeditions enough! I went alone and ended up in an incredible group of 7. They have a lovely FB group community as well as a super informative website. They organized pickup from my hostel and my guide was Nilton (I might be biased but he was the best - the perfect mix of funny, informative and patient). He answered any and all questions and gave us great info along the trek. He was very encouraging - I was with a group that had done many treks/marathons before and this was my first trek. The first full day is the hardest with Humantay Lake & Salkantay pass - they were well equipped and got me up the hill!! The chef staff were absolutely incredible - Gary, Adan, Octavio, Gregorio they accommodated everyone’s requests. The hobbit house was so cool, the coffee plantation was an amazing experience, and of course Machu Picchu was great (they organized all the tickets, busses…etc and I’m so happy for that) the list can go on. I was initially nervous when booking but Alpaca Expeditions answered every question and led the way through each step so flawlessly. I’m sad it’s over & am so grateful for the experience and the people I’ve met through it!! As well if you have Nilton you are in GREAT hands and will be laughing and learning 100% of the time!

Our Inca Trail hike with Alpaca Expeditions was extraordinary, thanks to the incredible tour guides Russel and Rosa. When I became sick on the trail, Russel went above and beyond to look after me, ensuring my safety and comfort. I found both Russel and Rosa to be quite knowledgeable and enthusiastic when sharing information about the various Inca sites. They were very accommodating and encouraging which made our 4-day hiking adventure in the mountains feel like home. I must also mention that Russel's exceptional photography skills were truly remarkable, capturing stunning landscapes and precious moments throughout the hike. I highly recommend Alpaca Expeditions for anyone looking to explore the Inca Trail. Be sure to ask for the amazing duo Russell and Rosalinda.

Just finished the 4D/3N inca trail and I cannot fault the experience I have had. Fletcher and Ismael are amazing tour guides, always positive and encouraging. Clearly very passionate about the service they give and the history of their people. The trek itself is tough, but I never once felt that I wouldn't make it. What an amazing experience. Would definitely recommend alpaca expeditions to anyone looking to do the trek. PS. The food. I don't think I've ever eaten better while camping thanks to chef Mario.

Beautiful trek! Our tour guide Romario was so helpful and his love for his culture gave us an insight that truly connected us to the land we were walking on. There wasn’t a question that he didn’t know the answer to. We were always taken care of and the food and porters also did excellent work making sure that any concern was addressed and made for a very personal feeling trip.

Very well organized experience. There is always a guide in the front and back of the group. The porter are beyond amazing for all the work they do. I had Rosalinda and Raul as my tour guide. They are very knowledgeable about the land and are enthusiastic to share all the information. Their personalities are great. They are great motivators when I was needing a boost along the 4 day trail. As a beginner, I found the trail physically demanding with the endless amount of stairs to climb and high altitude but I had to push myself mentally to make it through. The end results were definitely worth it. Thank you for all the encouragement ❤️

We chose the Ultimate Classic Salkantay Trek and had an incredible experience. The pure natural beauty of the Peruvian Andes is simply incredible. I recently did the 4D/3N trek with Alpaca Expeditions and my wife and I had a great experience. Our guides, Yoel and John were absolutely fantastic. They always made sure we were having a good time and that we were safe. My wife took her time with the stairs and both of them were very patient and gave helpful advice and encouragement. They were also both very knowledgeable in the history of Peru and Machu Picchu. The cook, Yuri, made excellent food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Snacks were also provided. The porters are phenomenal and took good care of our belongings. Would highly recommend this tour company for any of your tour needs!

The 5D/5N Salkantay trek with Alpaca expedition was exceptionally rewarding and memorable. First day was challenging with altitude and uphill hikes, but I was so glad I did it at the end of the day. Our tour guide, Americo, was amazing and our chef made delicious meals every day for us. It was my first time in Peru, but overall experience made me respect and love Peruvian culture, people and food! Thank you, Alpaca, for amazing experience!! Just finished the 4D/3N Classic Inca Trail with Alpaca Experience. What an amazing trip. Alexander and Henry our guides were simply amazing. What wonderful people who took care of us every step of the way. The chef did wonders serving us amazing food breakfast, lunch and dinner. The porters were so organized and camp was always ready and welcoming when we got in tired at the end of the day. This is a trip you do not want to miss and Alpaca Experience is the company you want to do it with!

A truly magical experience on Inca trail

We did the group tour for Classic Inca trail(4d 3n) and it was simply THE BEST experience we’ve had ever!! The porters , chefs and guides are amazing at what they do and overall gave us a dreamy experience. They briefed about the logistics well , the porters ensured that all tents were setup before we arrived at the camp, the chefs prepared incredible food with local ingredients for us to try. The guides provided such a wonderful history on the inca trail and ensured that no one in the group is left behind and always had one person lead and other guide tail the group. Our guides were Sabi and Miguel and I would definitely recommend them. Sabi ensured the group stays on schedule and seamlessly orchestrted and managed everything from starting of the trek till the time we reached back. Also a special shoutout to Miguel for going above and beyond - on the trails he shared a lot of information and stories about the local Quechua culture which kept our spirits up on steep hikes and the time flew by! It was truly a once in a lifetime magical experience with this Alpaca dream team !!!

Did the 4D/3N Inca Trail with Nancy and Raul. I highly recommend this company! Amazing communication and you are well taken care of my locals and people of the community. They will make sure that you are safe and are having fun. The staff, including the chefs and the porters are incredibly helpful and kind. They made us the best, nutritious meal for the days and activities to come. The tents were great as well. I got a really great night's of sleep. We rented their sleeping bags and mattresses and they were all working and in great condition Everything is so well organized that I will highly recommend this to anyone who wants to go hike and see macchu pichu without worrying about other logistics.

This past week I spent five days touring Peru with the Alpaca Expeditions. I can’t say enough about the two tour guides I worked with, but wanted to focus the first review on my time with Juan specifically, and my time visiting Manchu Picchu and Sacred Valley. Juan was on time, incredibly knowledgeable, extremely accommodating and went out of his way to ensure our group was comfortable during the entire trip. Traveling as a single female, experiencing the country in a safe way was a priority for me. I never once felt uneasy and on the contrary, Juan provided great context on each place we visited and kept us informed on when and where we were going next. He ensured we always had safe water to drink, carried our luggage when needed, went back to help find a lost wallet (which was recovered!) and had an incredible amount of knowledge about Peru’s history and the culture. He also had the best sound effects when telling fun stories! You could tell that the people who we encountered along the tour (who also knew Juan) really loved him. Even the local dogs wagged their tails as we passed by when Juan gave a friendly greeting. Our group arrived at Manchu Picchu early in the morning and the fog had not yet lifted. Juan went out of his way to ensure we got an incredible view and waited with us until the fog had disappeared, also taking iconic photos for us along the way and sharing so many stories behind the scenes about the area. I travel often and have to say that the Alpaca guides are top of the list of guides who made me feel right at home, displayed an authentic love for their country, and were incredibly professional in everything they did! I give this tour (and Juan) a 10/10 and will absolutely recommend to friends and family!

What an experience! Alpaca is a well run organization. The service was excellent. The logistics were spot on. Our guide Americo was a fantastic leader of our hikers and the support staff. It’s not just the challenge of the hike, it’s learning about Incan culture, and building bonds with your fellow trekkers. My wife and two others had food allergies. We had Chef Freddie, a literal chef, cook gourmet meals for everyone and he did great with all the allergies. I definitely recommend Alpaca! Don’t go anywhere else.

I joined the 4D/3N Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu with Alpaca on 4th-7th Dec and it was a brilliant experience. Firstly, our guide Lizandro was incredible. I've met a lot of hiking guides and he is the best guide I have ever had - incredibly knowledgeable about history and culture, intelligent, able to share facts with the story behind them, as well as friendly and approachable. He honestly gives it all to his work and is so dedicated. He was very clear too about what the group was doing, what we needed to prepare each day and realistic about the weather conditions (we were hiking in the rainy season and the weather was very variable). He was patient and made sure we all had the best time - taking photos at the cool spots, encouraging us on hard parts, waiting for the clouds to clear at Machu Picchu for however long it would take etc. We loved our group and I'm not sure if it was planned or fluke but we all got on very well and were in a similar fitness range meaning we were all able to hike within a similar pace. There were some different strong personalities in other groups on the trail and we felt our group were very aligned. The kit we were provided by Alpaca was good - sleeping bags were very warm (and I'm the kind of person who gets very cold!), our tent didn't leak and was a good size for two, hiking poles etc. The chefs were also brilliant. They made great buffet meals and it always had ample vegetarian options. The porters were also amazing and very nice despite their extremely difficult jobs. My only note is that I noticed porters had varying quality of gear, perhaps relating to how long they've worked for Alpaca - it is such a tough job and in the rainy season it's essential to have good waterproof hiking shoes and jackets. Alpaca, please prioritise this for your porters 🙏

Alpaca Expeditions organised a truly incredible and unforgettable 4 day hike to Machu Picchu. Juan Carlos was an extraordinary and unique guide assisted by Fernando and Raymundo - two brilliant assistant guides. The route was planned perfectly with all of the right stops and places to rest. The pre-hike information and briefing covered all bases and the gear they provided was top quality. The camp sites were in stunning locations too. Finally a huge shout out to the porters and chefs. Better service and feasts of food you cannot expect to find. Thank you everyone, and JC, for the best time ever.

Grateful I booked with Alpaca expeditions for our first trip to Cusco/Machu Picchu. From the beginning everything went so smooth. We booked last minute a few weeks before our trip, super easy to communicate with them. We did the 2day/1night short Inca trail with hotel. Our guides were Sol & Walter, they are the best and know what they’re doing in every aspect. Alpaca expeditions hires the best quality locals and they are well trained for every situation and extremely knowledgeable. Worth every dollar spent! I will be booking with them again for future tours!!

I can’t say enough good things about our experience with Alpaca Expeditions. Russell was our main guide, and he was phenomenal! I always felt taken care of and his information was top notch. Brando was a great assistant who always made sure we were all together. The chef Armando did a great job accommodating our gluten and dairy free dietary needs. Would 100% you book with them as they are the best!!!!

2D1N Sacred Valley & Machu Picchu by Train, January 8-9, 2024. The tour was well organized and well paced. We never felt rushed at any of our stops. They picked out some excellent restaurants and hotel for us. Namely “Bar Restaurant Templo del Sol” and Full House” had really delicious food selections. Our hotel “Jaya Suite Machu Picchu” in Aguas Calientes had all the amnesties we needed for the night, clean rooms, and was conveniently located near the train station (about 3-5 mins walk). Our tour guide was David Villanueva. David is incredibly cordial, attentive, and very considerate, especially with my mother-in-law’s bad knee. He went above and beyond in his service! The night before our tour began, he got in touch with us to let us know what to bring and what to expect. He is an extremely knowledgeable guide with extensive experience in Quechua or Inca history. He taught us a great deal about their culture, history, and other legends that we had no prior knowledge of. He also showed us the greatest spots to see! We saw breathtaking landscapes and had the most wonderful experience that we will remember for a long time!

We had a fantastic experience doing the 4D/3N tour with Alpaca! Russell and Rosalinda were very supportive and helpful, having multiple roles beyond tour guide, including doctor for our entire group! We saw some fantastic vistas, challenged ourselves to complete the hike, and enjoyed so many meals and experiences. Definitely reccommend!

If you want a first class experience on the incredible, magical and yes gruling Inca trail, these guys are the BEST! Everything was taken care of, including our amazing guide Alfonso, incredible chef and hard working porters. Can't say enough good things about these guys except I would give my highest recommendation to them and this trek.

This was one of the most challenging but rewarding experiences of my life! If you love hiking, camping, and seeing different microclimates in one day - this experience is a must do! I just completed the 4 day/3 night Inca trail trek with guides Isao and Marcela, cooks Maximo and Mario, and porters lead by Ronald. I cannot say enough great things about this experience. I appreciated that every single detail was planned out and went smoothly. The guides were personable and had great personalities. They were also very informative and knowledgeable about the trail and Inca sites. The food was great and always ready for us when we arrived at camp. The porters were kind and always had our tents set up, water ready to be refilled, etc. This was a life changing experiencing and I would highly recommend going with Alpaca.

Alexander and Oscar were excellent tour guides and really shared with us an authentic Inca trail experience full of Inca history, symbolism, architecture, and more. With the help of porters carrying some of our gear and the super chef creating delicious daily meals, this trip is one I will always remember with amazement and gratitude. Alex and Oscar provided a respectful and interactive environment for our group to become a family instead of just a group of strangers. Being able to see Inca sites exclusive to those traveling on the Inca trail was awe-inspiring. Thank you Alpaca Expeditions for the excellent Inca trail and Machu Picchu experience!

Absolutely incredible once in a lifetime experience with the most sustainable, supportive and fun guides - Alex, Ethel and Puma! From the briefing, pick up and starting the trek it was faultlessly organised and made you feel very looked after and absolutely no need to worry about anything. We managed to go at our own pace up the trickier sections with regular checkpoints and lots of information along the way. All abilities are supported by the fantastic guides.

Alexander & Henry were amazing guides! The entire experience, start to finish, was incredibly amazing! So well organized, so well orchestrated, every detail accounted for. All the other hikers wished they were with our group, because it was so clearly superior! Would recommend nobody else!

One of the most challenging and rewarding adventures I've ever been on, the views were absolutely incredible and our guide Russel was amazing, passionate, caring, and so knowledgeable about Incan and Peruvian history. The porters are some of the most amazing athletes I think I've ever seen in my life, running up and down steep inclines and steps while carrying 25kg+ at such altitude... truly incredible work. It is customary to leave them a tip as well and they will deserve every bit of it. I guarantee you will be inclined to give more than what is usually suggested as a tip.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE! I had high expectations for the Inca trail to Machu Picchu, and this expedition exceeded them. The food was amazing and our guides were incredible! Ask for Javier and Henry!!! They did everything they could to make it the most memorable experience! I expected beautiful views but I didn’t expect the friendships that would be made from around the world. I would highly recommend that you book with this company because they everything will be taken care of for you!

We did the two day tour of Machu Picchu, one day hike then the second day return by bus. What an awesome experience. Our Guide, Rinaldo, was fantastic. He was so informative and really made the strenuous hike a joy. You could really see the love he has for not only what he does but for the area and culture. Half our photos were taken by him. We had an absolutely amazing lunch prepared by Pedro. He cooked off of two camp burners and served up a 5 star lunch. We would highly recommend this trip to anyone. Just prepare for a lot of stairs and a good gain in elevation. My apple watch said that I did 126 flights of stairs that day.

Amazon experience, once in a lifetime. Alvin and Luz Marina were great tour guides very professional, motivational and informative throughout the whole trip. For a trekking experience the food was spectacular, still amazed Sergio baked a cake in a campsite .. great overall .. alpaca expeditions really outdid themselves :)

We did the 4 days 3 nights hike on the Inca Trail. The organization and especially the communication before the hike were excellent. We always felt well looked after. Even on the hike itself. The guides were very good. They responded to everyone individually, for example with regard to walking speed or other things. We felt really safe. The explanations during the hike were also interesting and well explained. Our guide was also excellent during the visit to MP. I can recommend AE. You definitely can't go wrong! It was a special experience for us and AE made it possible.

Alpaca Experiences was the best experience! 4 day, 3 night. It was my first overnight hiking / camping trip, and they made it easy, fun, and accessible!! Miguel, Ingrid, and Puma were our tour guides, and they took care of us every step of the way (I mean this literally when someone’s shoe broke it was fixed immediately and we trekked on). Also….Armando as our chef…incredible experience. We were giggling because the food was so absurdly delicious and for a CAMPING trip on the side of a MOUNTAIN it was so impressive. Cannot recommend this trip enough!!

We did the 2-day tour to Machu Picchu. Alpaca Expeditions did an amazing job. Diligent, kind and very knowledgable guide Romario is a dream guide. He knows everything about nature and history, and he is very good at interesting personal conversations as well. The lunch on day one was served in a tent at one of the camps. You expect a very basic lunch in a setting like this, but we had a super delicious meal with many courses suited for a king. Urbano the cook is just amazing. Thank you Alpaca Expeditions for supporting and creating jobs in local communities and for giving us an experience that will stay with us for the rest of our lives.

I spent a great day with Juan and his crew taking a walk in the Andes. The views were spectacular. The trip was perfectly organized and it is a perfect way to explore this beautiful part of the world. Juan is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. I learned a lot from him about the local nature and culture.

Just completed the 5 day/4 night Inca Trail trek with guides Adolfo and Walter. We were blown away by the sights and the nature - Machu Picchu was just a piece of all the amazing things we saw! Adolfo and Walter were extremely kind and patient with our group, and brought the trail to life with so much information about history, architecture, agriculture, and nature. Their energy and optimism helped us keep moving during the tough parts of the trek and they were willing to field any questions we had about the trail. Special shout out to chef Dionicio - somehow the food became some of the best we had on the entire trip to Peru even though it was prepared in a tent along the trail, and was so plentiful, including a full chocolate cake for our friend whose birthday came during the trek. He is truly a magician. The trip exceeded expectations in every way, I really can't say enough about our experience. So thankful for our guides, chef, and wonderful porters for the trip of a lifetime!

My experience with our guide and trek team was phenomenal for the 6 day Choquequirao tour. Our guide Javier Alvarez did a wonderful job of helping everyone have a great and safe time. Pedro the camp chef masterfully prepared meals and the porters assisted everyone at all times. The hike is challenging. The most challenging hike I have been on to date. I do not know if I would have completed it without their guidance and support.

Just finished the 6N 7D Salkantay & Inca Trail trek with Alpaca Expeditions. A truly amazing experience with each day of the hike different to the next, mountains, glaciers, cloud forest and numerous Inca structures. Our guides Sergio and Ronaldo were 10/10 throughout the whole trip and I could not recommend them or Alpaca highly enough. The food from the chef was healthy and nutritious for the duration of the trek and the porters were always polite and courteous. I miss the mountains already!

My wife and I had the most incredible 4-day, 3-night Inca Trek with Alpaca Expeditions this July. Our guide, Adolfo, was absolutely phenomenal! His vast knowledge of all the archaeological sites we visited enriched our experience beyond measure, making each moment unforgettable. Our cooks, Maximo and Santos, went above and beyond to prepare a fully vegan menu for us. I can't imagine that was an easy task, but they executed it flawlessly, and every meal was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. This tour was absolutely incredible! I cannot recommend enough. Our Chef, Walter, made sure we had the tastiest food each day. I was blown away by our porters who carried both our personal and camping equipment. They went above and beyond to made sure we were comfortable across the 4 days. I also really appreciated how well alpaca expeditions treat their porters, ensuring they are equiped with the right equipment and clothing to complete the tour. David, the head Porter did a fantastic job at looking after us and his team of porters. The respect I have for the porters is huge - we couldn’t have done it without them and they are absolutely incredible. I also really loved learning about how alpaca expeditions support the porters and their families outside of work, like visiting their communities and providing medical and dental support. Lastly, our amazing guide Isao - he is an awesome guy and did an amazing job leading and educating us throughout the Inca trail. He made it such a fun experience with his infectious personality and constant jokes. Book this tour- you won’t regret it!!!!!

This trip was memorable in many aspects. The entire Alpaca Expeditions team did an amazing job. They are a well oiled machine. Each one knows their place in the group and they all went out of the way to make our experience the most special one they could. Our guide, Javier, was very experienced, knowledgeable, patient, encouraging and spent some time w/ each one of us in the group which made it a more personal experience. He’s phenomenal at what he does! The porters are incredible, they aren’t called “green machine” for nothing. They too played a big role in motivating us throughout the trail each day and deserve so much credit for the difficult work they do.

A well-organized and rewarding trek. Alpaca Ex operates this very smoothly. A couple of things to keep in mind. 1 This is challenging, so be prepared. 2 You are well-taken care of, notably the food! 3 Bring soles for washroom use. Often it is one or two soles (sometimes free), and definitely bring toilet paper. There are many opportunities for washrooms, which we were surprised about. 4 The site stresses to set your own pace. Do that ... enjoy the views and the company of others. Take lots of pictures!

We did the 5D/5N Salkantay trek. I cannot say enough positive things about this hike and our guides Edwardo and Yoel. The hike was challenging but so rewarding. I will never forget how our group from all over the world turned into a family in 5 days. Alpaca expeditions provided a 5 star experience and the food was amazing, thanks chef Walter!! I would recommend this company 1000x over!

This trip was phenomenal. Alvin, Dina, Wilber and the whole crew made us feel like part of the family! The views, food, and experience was truly once in a lifetime. All of the accommodations far exceeded our expectations and we enjoyed every minute of this trip! Alvin and Dina did an excellent job leading the group and taught us lots about the Inca culture and history along the way! The super porters took care of everything at camp and made our time to rest excellent. I'd highly recommend this group to anyone interested!

We just finished a 4 day 3 night trip to Rainbow mountain via Ausangate peak. Absolutely stunning. Our guide, Felipe, was exceptional. He was knowledgeable about the area, the people and their customs, weather. The food that we were served every day was top notch. I have never been on a track that served such good food. Highly recommend Alpaca Expedition and Felipe!!

We chose to do the 4 day 3 night Inca trail experience! This was truly a five star experience. From the very beginning the porters and our guide Rey were all very accommodating. One of the things I was most concerned about was the food during the trail. Being so remote I was worried our meals would be hit and miss. The food was absolutely incredible. Every meal was as if you were at a five star restaurant! If you’re going to hike the trail, do it with these guys!

Absolutely amazing team provided by Alpaca. Had an incredible experience. The food our chef Julian was able to cook was mind-blowing! Had a very fun and informative experience with our guide Raul. Giving 4 stars because some of the camping equipment Alpaca expeditions provided felt a bit old and worn down.

Excellent experience! Our tour guide, Javier, was humorous, well-informed, and sensitive to our needs. As a group of 8, there was no doubt we would finish with Javier's pace and guidance. Meals cooked by chef Wilbur were great, especially considering we were in the wilderness with limited resources.

Alpaca expeditions is an amazing tour company and you will be well cared for! Being provided with a great tour guide like Fletcher who can give the story behind the Inca trail and the journey of the Incas in the region. The four day tour through the mountains leaves you feeling so accomplished and in awe of the surrounding mountains and valleys. You see spectacular views and secluded ruins on the way as you trek. Day two is very challenging with two peaks but so worth it! Alpaca also provides amazing tables full of food for each meal and snacks to keep you going through the day. It really is premium service! If you want to do the Inca trail I would highly recommend Alpaca Expeditions.

Russell, Rosalina (our guides), Armando (head chef), and the entire Porter team made our 4 day, 3 night trek an incredible experience. Yes you will work hard to hike. Yet the experiences along the way make it so worth it. This team sets up breakfast, lunch and dinner all while you sleep and hike. Excellent food, even a two tiered birthday cake. Did the 5 day hike to Machu Picchu and it was fantastic. Our guides were great. The food was very good. Our porters were awesome. Was a great experience. My wife got altitude sickness really bad and they got her off the trail and took good care of her while I finished the hike. Am planning another trip with them in the near future.

I did the Classic Inca Trail Trek 4D/3N to Machu Picchu with a friend. This was an incredible life-changing trip. It was so well organized by Alpaca Expeditions. Our tour guides, both named Yoel, were knowledgeable, friendly, engaging, encouraging, and overall wonderful. They really cared about making this the best experience possible for all the guests and helping us appreciate Peruvian history and culture. My group was fun, positive, and kind, and we were all good friends by the end of the trip. I loved our meals together, the guides would tell funny stories and we all got to know each other. I was awed by the chef on our trip, Aleyha, who cooked delicious meals. The porters were amazing, they carried heavy packs and always had camp set up by the time we arrived at the campsites. I hope they are appropriately compensated for their time and effort, this hike would not be possible without them. I appreciated that Alpaca provided appropriate shoes with traction and grip for their porters, which some other companies don’t seem to do, since they work so hard and it is so important for them to be safe on the trail. The scenery was magnificent. I would highly recommend this trip, our particular guides, and this company to everyone!!

What an incredible trip on the Inca trail. I went with 5 others and our total group by the start of the Inca trail was 11. Our schedule was 4 days and 3 nights. No one was left behind. Either on of the fanatic guides, Russel and Henry, made sure to keep track of everyone. There was never a time where we could not see them. Not only this, they were friendly and willing to answer any and all of our questions. If they didn’t know, they went out of their way to find out. I heard other groups, going with different companies, complain of not being able to find their guides or that they were just brushing past Inca ruins. I really don’t think it gets better than this. As for accommodations, the debriefing the night before made sure everyone was accounted for. This included going over rentals and any restrictions, like diets, for each individual. Those accommodations exceeded expectations. Entire dishes were made separately and differently if even 1 person did not eat red meat. What was unexpected was the last minute changes. If someone was not feeling well, which at some point almost everyone did not feel 100%, dishes with milk would be made without or extra comforts were assured. Thanks to our chef Mario, no one left breakfast, lunch, or dinner dissatisfied or hungry. He somehow managed to make a cake on our third day. Finally on to the porters. Although our interactions were typically brief, we did have the opportunity to meet them and learn a little about them. I cannot imagine doing the work they do. Never once were we waiting at camp for them. Most of the time we left before them and yet without seeing them pass, they would already have everything set up for us. If you’ve read about the toilets being bad. Yeah, they’re not but there was a portable one the porters carried with a private tent. The ones at camp sites are not in the best shape, but for being in the middle of the Andes, it is not the worst toilet I have used while back packing or hiking. Overall this was a great trip and I would definitely do more adventures with this company. Hopefully you’ll have nice sunny days like we did.

We did the four day, three night inca trail hike to Machu Picchu. Our tour guides Juan Carlos and Rosa were phenomenal. They made sure our tour was fun, interesting and full of amazing memories. The chef, Gregorio, created delicious meals throughout the hike, ranging from soups, salads, trout, cakes and much more. Our chief porter, Edgar, and the porter team made it easy to have our belongings and tents carried throughout the trail. The entire Alpaca, green machine team were incredible. I can't recommend this tour and this team enough. Make sure to book with this company for an unforgettable experience.

The 4D/3N Inca Trail trek with Alpaca Expeditions was incredible! It was very well organised and the hike itself was breathtakingly beautiful. Our tour guides, Alvin and Luz, were exceptional - they were warm, extremely informative and cultivated an environment that made it feel like travelling with a group of friends rather than strangers. Every meal prepared by Chef Sergio was fantastic (I was not expecting to eat such delicious and varied food on the trek!) and we were all really really grateful for the hard work of the porter team, who carried our belongings and camping gear throughout the trek. I’m so glad I booked with Alpaca Expeditions and would highly recommend them to anyone considering the Inca Trail.

Saul's expertise extended beyond, as he skillfully assisted with altitude sickness and other challenges throughout the expedition. The entire trip was seamlessly orchestrated, thanks to the impeccable organization from start to finish. David and his dedicated team of porters, working diligently and swiftly, ensured our camps were set up, belongings carried, and camps dismantled with precision. Chef Moses took our culinary experience to new heights, crafting delectable gourmet dishes tailored to our vegetarian and gluten free dietary needs. His culinary mastery added a delightful touch to the Inca Trail adventure, making it not only enjoyable but also memorable. Without hesitation, I highly recommend this diligent group of individuals for an unparalleled hiking experience in the Cusco area.

What an amazing trip - one I’ll never forget. We did the 4D3N Inca Trail and we couldn’t have picked a better company. From the very beginning you can see how much they take care of their people. Shoutout to our amazing chef Melquiaoes who cooked us amazing meals everyday and even a cake in the mountain - how is that even possible! To all our amazing porters who made the trip possible - without them we could not have done it. They’re carrying about 20kg each on their back with our food, items, tents, toilet! Amazing so shoutout to lead porter Eugenio. And finally to our amazing guides Isao and Carlos - without you we wouldn’t have been able to do this either. Every step of the way you were encourage and amazing and the best photographers!! Alpaca Expeditions really looks after their people and they hire from the local villages and communities which is amazing - we got the time to meet them and hear their stories which we loved. If you want to do the Inca Trail I would highly recommend doing it with them!!! :)

Just got home after a wonderful trip to Peru. The highlight of my Peruvian adventure was a 4 day / 3 night Inka trail expedition with Alpaca Expeditions. We took several days to acclimate but our guides did an awesome job pacing the group and managing our days on the trail so that they went off without an issue. Their briefings pre-trip and daily gave the group clear expectations of what to expect, and their level of organization of the logistics was perfect. Our guides were amazing. Elisban, our lead guide, is from Huayllabamba and grew up directly on the Inka trail. Our second guide Henry was from the region, and both guides had extensive knowledge of the Inca sites and the local plants & animals. I really enjoyed how they helped me learn more about the local medicinal plants and to spot the multitude of orchids we encountered along the trail. I have backpacked and camped extensively, but this was truly one of my favorite treks I’ve ever been a part of. The chef pulled off incredible meals. I am humbled and full of gratitude for the hard working porters and staff that made this a truly unforgettable experience. I am grateful for the new bonds with my fellow trekkers. I cannot recommend Alpaca Expeditions enough and I look forward to returning to Peru in the future to see more of this beautiful country. Tupananchiskama Team Alpaca!

We picked this company for its great reputation and local projects. The whole trek was flawless. Incredible attention to detail and never had to worry about a thing. Our guide Hono was incredible and we loved connecting with him and hearing his stories about the Andes and Inca people. Our chef Waly made the most incredible food and our porters Achilles and Angelica helped to make us feel at home and we are so grateful for them carrying the supplies. It was a perfect trip and we can’t thank this team enough!
