About Bhutan Acorn Tours & Travel

Like many, Bhutan was on our bucket list to visit, and touring this amazing country with Bhutan Acorn was everything we wanted in our visit! Our guide Tashi and driver Sunam were incredibly kind, welcoming, engaging, and entertaining to spend time with during our time in Bhutan, and Bhutan Acorn set up a very well-designed tour to mix cultural, site seeing, and nature and hiking focused experiences. My wife and I never felt rushed or forced to stick to a script, as Tashi and Sunam were very flexible and attentive to making sure we got to do exactly what we wanted to spend our time doing during our tour! The hotels, home stay experience, and food options were all very nice as well (even our tent in Bumdruk!). For anyone looking for an excellent, guided tour experience through this really special country, definitely take a look at Bhutan Acorn!

Life changing experience that was underpinned by our two wonderful guides - Tashi and driver Sonam. They are exceptional at their jobs and we could feel their hospitality and pride in their country at every step of the trip. Karma the managing director was also extremely communicative, detail oriented, and thoughtful throughout our entire stay. His ability to curate a wonderful stay was only topped by his flexibility in accomodating for our needs. Overall highly recommend!

Fabulous Tour Company

A Great Tour I can't express enough gratitude to Acorn Tours Manager Director Mr. Phuntsho for helping me out arranging this unforgettable Bhutan tour. During the planning phase, I chose a start date based on limited knowledge about Bhutan. Later I asked if I could see a festival while I'm in Bhutan. Mr. Phuntsho altered my previous itinerary and recommend a new start date so that I could go to Tshechu festival in Domkhar on day 5. Seeing the festival turned out to be one of the most impressive experience of the tour. Our tour guide and driver are excellent too. They were professional yet considerate and caring. It was a pleasure to spend 10 days with these two wonderful Bhutanese people. I've visited many countries, Bhutan stood out as one of the most impressive ones. Its serenity, spirituality, pristine land, and its unique somewhat otherworldly culture all worth a visit. Definitely Recommend it!

It is the happiest country l have ever been to. As a solo female traveller, I felt safe and in awe throughout the trip! The daily schedule was designed in such a way that it offered cultural visits, beautiful treks, and free time! Tashi, my guide, was just outstanding. His enthusiasm for Bhutanese culture and his desire to bring the gorgeousness and history of the country in front was extraordinary. He made each site visit enriching and engaging with his knowledge and enthusiasm :) He also cared for me to ensure that l was always comfortable and having fun, providing me with all my questions answered. Nidup, my driver, was also very good; I could not have asked for a better driver than him. Besides my comfort, he was also very careful while driving, making me feel safe. Furthermore, his friendliness was an extra plus that put a lot of creativity into the journey. All my hotels were comfortable and luxurious and made me feel quite homely. All the places that I came across were as charming as the others. The meals always tasted great, with a blend of Bhutanese dishes and continental! The most memorable part of the tour was the walk to Taktsang Monastery. The scenic views were incredible and left me speechless! I recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore Bhutan! I am already looking forward to returning as soon as possible!!!!

Talking to other travellers during our stay in Bhutan, we realised that we had been very lucky with our agency. The tour itself was well organised, the communication beforehand was excellent, fast and helpful. We also had an amazing guide, Norbu, who made our trip magical and very special. With his incredible knowledge of the country's history, recent developments, Buddhism, flora, fauna and so much more, we couldn't have asked for more. Coupled with his openness and humour, we enjoyed every single moment. It was quite impressive to see his professionalism despite his young age. In addition, we so much enjoyed observing his interaction with local people, especially kids. If you plan to book this tour - ask for Norbu as your guide.

What an incredible tour of an even more incredible country. Peaceful, restful, relaxing, beautiful are just some of the qualities of both. The history and culture are equally amazing. It is hard to write a review of this experience without sounding like an exaggeration. Bhutan is truly worth the time and effort to visit, and Bhutan Acorn Tours & Travel is an exceptional agency with which to experience it. Accommodations were first rate. The people of the country are unbelievably friendly and accommodating. From the beginning to the end of my initial contact with Acorn I felt the commitment to ensure my every concern was accommodated. Mr. Karma quickly and efficiently secured my visa, flight reservations and travel arrangements with ease and consideration for my individual circumstances. It is hard to put into words the comfort I felt dealing with him. Reliability is only one of them. On the ground, Mr. Norbu, my guide, and Mr. Nidup, my driver, ensured that I experienced and understood all that I saw. Patience and desire to ensure my trip was enjoyable, educational, and inspiring was clearly their primary goals. Mr. Norbu never tired of my questions even when asked over and over. It was like traveling with two knowledgeable friends. When was the last time you sat watching an archery competition (Bhutan archery is unique) or played a few games of snooker with your driver and guide? I cannot recommend this tour more strongly.

We had an amazing 8 nights in Bhutan with Bhutan Acorn. Everything was perfect. Bhutan is simply unforgettable. Bhutan Acorn attended to our needs thoughtfully and responded super swiftly to our enquiries and requests. Every booking and confirmation were made at ease. Karma from Bhutan Acorn brought us a gorgeous pair of Gho and Kira and we were so glad and wore them for the entire trip. In the midst of the trip, Karma checked in with us to see if everything's in order, a nice touch. After they knew we wore the same Gho and Kira for the past 4 days, Karma immediately arranged a second pair for us and even asked for our colour preference. We were very delighted for this arrangement. It was our choice to wear this beautiful traditional costume throughout the trip and we hope to blend in and experience being a Bhutanese. Our guide and driver wore it the entire trip even to Tiger Nest Temple, so we believe we can do it, too. Knowing that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, Karma amazingly arranged a tasty cake and a bottle of Bhutanese wine during our stay in Thimphu. Amazing. Our guide and driver, Tashi and Sonam, made a perfect quartet with us. Tashi is super fun, knowledgeable and attends to our change of plans swiftly and thoughtfully. Sonam is a reliable driver. We asked loads of questions in understanding Buddhism, Bhutan and the secret of their Gross National Happiness. We were mind-blown by the beauty of Bhutan, not just by the clean air, pristine scenery and gorgeous, exquisitely decorated and historic temples and dzongs, but most importantly, the beautiful and genuine people in Bhutan.
