Day 1: Quito, Ecuador

Day 2: Quito, Ecuador

Explore Quito (B)
Today you will discover the historical center of Quito and balance on the equator at the middle of the world. You will receive a walking tour on paper so you can travel on your own rhythm to the old town of Quito. Here you can visit the impressive churches, walk through the streets of the historical centre and taste the typical Ecuadorian fruits at the biggest market in Quito. After this cultural experience, there is a ticket included to the equator. You can sit back, relax and enjoy the ride until the monument site. Meanwhile the guide will give you background information on the monument and its story. In the afternoon you will return to the pick-up point from where you can make your way to your accommodation in Quito. Enjoy one last night partying in Mariscal as a farewell to this culturally rich and fun city.
Day 3: Quito - Isinlivi, Ecuador
Location: Isinlivi
Cotopaxi National Park (B/D)
Today you will be brought from Quito to Isinlivi by private transport. Along the way you will stop at the breathtaking Cotopaxi National Park for a walk in the paramo.
Day 4: Isinlivi - Chugchilan, Ecuador
Location: Chugchilán
Hike to Chugchilan (B/D)
Today you will make a beautiful and strenuous hike from Isinlivi to Chugchilan through the beautiful Paramo landscape. You will walk with a local guide and a horse for your day luggage. Your big luggage will be brought to your next hotel. On your way you can enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the beautiful spots you will encounter.
Day 5: Chugchilan - Baños, Ecuador
Location: Banos
Hike around Quilotoa Crater Lagoon (B)
Today you will visit the spectacular Quilotoa crater lagoon for a hike. Afterwards you will be brought to the lovely town of Baños in private transport and rest. Located in a valley surrounded by rivers and beautiful waterfalls, this small town in the Andes is a great destination for adventure travelers.
Day 6: Baños, Ecuador
Location: Banos
Baños Mountain Biking (B)
Today you will explore the amazing surroundings of Baños by going on a scavenger hunt by mountain bike. The hunt includes questions and tasks and leads you on the route along amazing waterfalls. A canopy and bridge jumping experience along the way is included. Transportation back to Baños is also included.
Day 7: Baños - Chimborazo, Ecuador
Location: Chimborazo
Transfer to Chimborazo Homestay (B)
At 1 PM you will be brought in private transport from Riobamba to the La Esperanza community in the Chimborazo area. An English speaking coordinator will give a brief explanation of the different projects and the daily life in the community. At 3 PM you will have a little cheese tasting in a local cheese factory. You will enjoy dinner at the house of an indigenous family.
Day 8: Chimborazo - Guamote
Location: Guamote
Visit to Guamote Town (B/L)
In the morning you will enjoy breakfast at the house of an indigenous family. Afterwards a local Spanish speaking guide will take you on a hike (approx. 3 hours) to a spectacular viewpoint from where you can see different volcanoes in the area. At 12 PM you will be brought in private transport to Guamote, where you will have lunch at the hotel. Afterwards you will explore the indigenous town Guamote on your own with the help of the Tasting Local Life program (paper description). You will get in contact with the locals and learn more about Guamote and its culture.
Day 9: Guamote - Cuenca, Ecuador
Location: Cuenca
Continue to Cuenca (B)
Today you will continue your journey. You will be brought to Alausí or Riobamba in private transportation. From here you will travel further per local bus to Cuenca (from Alausí). You will arrive in Cuenca, a pleasant city in the south of Ecuador.
Day 10: Cuenca, Ecuador
Location: Cuenca
Cuenca Scavenger Hunt (B)
Today you will explore the colonial city center of Cuenca by going on a scavenger hunt. The hunt includes questions and tasks and leads you to the must see places recommended by locals. For today you will also receive a day pass for Cuenca’s hop on/off bus.
Day 11: Cuenca - Guayaquil, Ecuador
Location: Guayaquil
Continue to Guayaquil (B)
Today you will continue your journey. An English speaking assistant will help you buying a ticket to Guayaquil at the local bus station (bus ticket included) with the rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 12: Guayaquil, Ecuador
Location: Guayaquil
Guayaquil Airport Transfer (B)
Time to say goodbye! You will be transferred to Guayaquil airport in time for your flight.

No! Most of our bamba travellers fall between the ages of 18 - 35, but everyone is young at heart and welcome to come experience the world with us! If you are between the ages of 18 and 118, we invite you to travel with bamba and have the time of your life! Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Bamba Travel allows you to transfer existing payments to a future tour to avoid cancellation fees if you can't travel and inform bamba travel, 60 days before departure.

Low Deposit
Bamba Travel requires a minimum deposit of 20% or the full booking value, whichever is less, with the final balance not due until 30 days before departure.

We don't charge a cancellation fee, here is a summary of bamba travel charges.
Up to 60 days before tour starts: Forfeit 100% of deposit.
At 30 days before tour starts: Forfeit 50% of booking price.
At 15 days before tour starts: Forfeit 100% of booking price.
