Day 1: Almaty, Kazakhstan
Location: Almaty
Arrival Almaty, city tour
On your arrival, your driver will be waiting for you to discover the city. Along the city tour, you will have the opportunity to admire the Republic Square and the gorgeous Monument of Independence. Take a walk on Square Astana, the old city center, to the 28 Panfilovtsev. Straight on the Avenue of memory, you will see obelisks with names of 28 fighters of the 1075th regiment of the 316th shooting division, who fought for Moscow. Also, you will visit Zenkov Cathedral, an incredible monument of cult architecture, historical places like the Museum of Musical Instruments, and you'll enjoy the view of the classical architecture of the Abay Theatre. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 2: Almaty – Tamgaly-Tas – Almaty, Kazakhstan
Location: Almaty
Excursion in Tamgaly (B)
After breakfast in the hotel, take a road trip to visit Tamgaly, get amazed by the Stone carving of Bronze Age, which is listed in the UNESCO World Heritage list, you can hike around this historical place, and then take some lunch on the way back to Almaty.
Day 3: Almaty – Altyn Emel, Kazakhstan
Location: Altyn Emel National Park
Excursion to Altyn-Emel National Park (B/D)
Enjoy a tasty breakfast in the hotel, then you’ll leave Amalty and head towards Basshi in Altyn-Emel National park, you will revel in a magical road through Kapchagay where you will be able to refresh and have lunch there. Once arrived in Altyn Emel National Park, you will get surprised by the singing dunes, it’s a spectacular place between two mountain ranges, where you can hear a beautiful and delightful song made by the wind through the sand grains.
Day 4: Altyn Emel - Charyn - Shatty, Kazakhstan
Location: Charyn
Walk in Charyn Canyon and overnight in Shatty village (B/D)
After enjoying a delicious breakfast, you will enjoy a 2-hour hike around the incredible Charyn Canyon and marvel at the magnificent red-colored rocks of the Valley of Castles. Such a beautiful view! You will then continue your way to Shatty village after a tasty lunch on the shore of the Sharyn lake. Enjoy a traditional dinner and overnight stay in a family guesthouse.
Day 5: Shatty - Kol Sai Lake, Kazakhstan – Karakol, Kyrgyzstan

Start your day with a tasty breakfast and head towards one of the three amazing Kol Sai Lakes. Admire this scenic location surrounded by impressive snowy mountains before crossing the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border. You will then arrive at Karakol where you will overnight in a family guesthouse.
Day 6: Karakol, Kyrgyzstan

Today you are going to enjoy the whole day in Karakol on a city tour, in which you will be able to meet the Museum of Russian Explorer, also you will find the Russian Orthodox Church and Muslim Mosque in Dungan Style, both of them are colourful, it’s impossible not to see them. Let your day end with a calm walk around Aksu gore before stay the night with your host family.
Day 7: Karakol – Jety-Oguz – Bokonbaevo – Kochkor, Kyrgyzstan
Location: Kochkor
Visit to Jety Oguz gorge, Kochkor (B)
Begin your journey taking breakfast in the Karakol hotel, then you will arrive at Jety Oguz gorge to hike while you enjoy the stunning view of a red rock mountain, if you behold well, you can discover the seven bulls and broken heart formations. Along the journey to Kochkor, you'll see the second largest mountainous lake in the world, Issyk-Kul Lake. Once in Kochkor, you will overnight in a family guesthouse.
Note: Optionally on the way, we will have a stop in Bokonbaevo village.
Day 8: Kochkor – Son-Kul, Kyrgyzstan
Location: Song-Kul
Arrived at Son-Kul (B/D)
On this day you’ll get lost in a popular place, Son-Kul Lake, one of the highest lakes in Kyrgyzstan. The adventure begins with the curves of the “32 parrots” road, but this isn’t the most amazing part of your day. During the day let yourself enveloped by the culture, learn about the real nomads visiting the traditional yurt made of felt while tasting the flavour of the traditional Kyrgyz milk called Kymyz. You will overnight in the traditional Kyrgyz nomadic housing called yurt.
Day 9: Son-Kul, Kyrgyzstan
Location: Song-Kul
Full day in Son-Kul Lake (B/L/D)
Today is your day! You decide the activities for your full day in Son-Kun Lake. If you are looking for a peaceful moment, a horse riding or hiking would be a great activity for behold the beautiful mountains. You will enjoy a calm moment if you decide to fish in the rivers, its a forbidden experience.
Day 10: Son-Kul – Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
Location: Bishkek
Visit Bishkek (B)
Live the experience of a tasty and special breakfast in a yurt before exploring an incredible road through Kalmak Ashu Pass. Along the road, you will have the opportunity to see ancient remains at the Burana Tower, and if you look beside the tower you will find important ruins of an ancient city called Balasagyn and a museum that keeps a lot of history of this place. To finish your day you will find comfortable accommodation in the hotel at Bishkek.
Day 11: Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
Location: Bishkek
Free day in Bishkek (B)
Spend a free day on your own and take pleasure in Bishkek, you can try traditional food and discover the local flavour, also you can learn more about people and culture.
Day 12: Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
Location: Bishkek
Airport drop-off (B)
This morning check out after breakfast when your trip will come to the end. Then you will be transferred to the airport back in time to check in to your flight. We hope you have had the greatest experience of your life!

Is there an age limit?
No! Most of our bamba travellers fall between the ages of 18 - 35, but everyone is young at heart and welcome to come experience the world with us! If you are between the ages of 18 and 118, we invite you to travel with bamba and have the time of your life! Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Most of our trips cater to the adventurous independent traveller. In fact, many of our travellers arrive on their own and quickly find that they easily meet like-minded people along the way at their hostels, on transportation, or during activities.

Do I need travel insurance?
We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance for your trip, especially when travelling in developing countries. Bamba does not include travel insurance of any type.Your current medical insurance may cover part of your trip, so it is important for you to become familiar with your current coverage. We recommend purchasing additional travel insurance that provides coverage for medical emergencies, emergency evacuation and repatriation, lost or stolen items and unforeseen cancellations. If you plan to participate in activities such as white-water rafting, trekking, sand-buggy rides, etc please make sure they are included in your policy.
