03 Day Nature Tour From Kandy ( Without Accommodation)

Day 01 - Wilpattu

• After Breakfast or take away the breakfast.


• We pick you up at 6:00 Am, and we leave kandy for Wilpattu National Park


• Wilpattu National park is among the oldest and most important of protected areas in Sri Lanka. It also contains a number of important cultural sites. The sanctuary lies inland from the coast and is entirely within Northern Province. It is contiguous with the park, the intervening boundary being marked by the Moderagam Aru.


• The main topographical feature in this park is the concentration of “villus” or “lakes” within it. The striking feature, though confined to certain sectors of the park, is copper red, loamy soils extremely varied. The western sector of the park with deeply forested areas and thorny bushes is reminiscent of Yala National Park in southern Sri Lanka.


• Characterized by inter monsoon rains in March and April, an extensive drought from May until early September and a major rainy season (Northern Monsoon) from September until December.


• Mammalian diversity and ecological densities are highest in such ecotomes as the interfaces between forest, scrub and grasslands converge in the west and the “villus” and drainage systems in the center of the park. A total of 31 species of mammals have been recorded but additional species of Rodentia and Chiropotera undoubtedly present. Among the most conspicuous reptiles are common.


• We proceed to Wilpattu National Park via the ancient capital of the city of Anuradhapura to see some attractions of this historic city. Anuradhapura is one of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka, famous for its well-preserved ruins of ancient Lankan civilization. From the 4th century BC, it was the capital of Sri Lanka until the beginning of the 11th century AD. During this period it remained one of the most stable and durable centers of political power and urban life in South Asia. The ancient city, considered sacred to the Buddhist world, is today surrounded by monasteries covering an area of over sixteen square miles (40 km²). Anuradhapura is also significant in Hindu legend as the fabled capital of the Asura King Ravana in the Ramayana. 


• Arrive to the Wilpattu National Park is a park.


• The unique feature of this park is the existence of "Willis" (Natural lakes) - Natural, sand-rimmed water basins or depressions that fill with rainwater.


• Having lunch, (our guide will recommend the best place). We will start the Wild-life Safari and watch the Elephants, Sloth Bears, Leopards, water Buffalo, Sambhur, spotted deer, mongoose, mouse and shrew as more of Wilpattu's residents.


• After the Wild-life Safari we will take you back to your hotel in Kandy


• Have Dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 02 Heeloya village

• After breakfast at the hotel


• Pick you up at 7.00am from kandy hotel


• Proceed to heeloya village for an amazing village experience 


• Heeloya is a remote and typical Kandyan village that is abundantly beautiful in the backdrop of the mighty Knuckles range. The village is naturally authentic and their farming lifestyle has never been changed since their settlement. Meeting the local villagers will be truly fascinated and exotic that you may experience their everyday typical lifestyle where they live peacefully on such amazing self-sustainable farmland. 


• You may taste the village cuisines at the host's home lunch and feel the nature at their backyards of forests and bathe in a waterfall as same as they do. Paddy Farming, Beekeeping, Toddy Tapping, Handicrafts, and Spice Growing are the primary income sources of the villagers and once you have been to a part of them in which your memories of Heeloya will be eternal.


• Arrive at the Village & Welcomed by Community. Take a mountain walk to one of the most beautiful and remote villages in Kandy at the foothills of Knuckles Mountains with an experienced guide and a villager.


• This walk will bring you real authentic sights of a village untouched by mass tourism growth or development. Visit the Village & Meet the Locals Sightseeing Surrounded by the Village


• Trekking of Waterfall area & Natural Bath.


• Tea at Local House with a Hosting Family Farewell to Village The walk goes through Pine forests, Tea estates, gushing streams, jungle patches, waterfalls, terraced rice fields and domestic spice fields.


• So you will be able to see working spice, paddy and tea fields, interact with real locals, taste home cooked food, and see how animals are used for farming work.


• You would be able to visit a real home in the mountains where one could witness or join cooking with the locals.


• The home cooked meal will be served as your lunch complimented with fresh home grown fruits such as Mangoes and Bananas


• By the end of the day we will drive you back to the hotel in kandy


• Have dinner and overnight stay at the hotel

Day 03

Bird watching & trekking in Udawatta Kele Sanctuary

• After breakfast or take away the breakfast,


• leave your hotel in kandy around 6.30. With your private guide and stay fresh for your trek in the Udawattakele Forest Reserve.


• Exploring ruins from the Kingdom of Kandy, visit a cave where a hermit supposedly lived, and discover a wealth of bird, plant, and perhaps also animal life.


• Being a rich nation of natural biodiversity, Sri Lanka explains and demonstrates it commonly. Udawatte Kele found north of Kandy Lake is an eco-tourism site which extends more than 103 hectares. The recreation center was at one time a prohibited backwoods called Uda wasala watte (the garden above the royal palace during the Kandyan kingdom. Visitors can tour the asylum consistently from 6 am to 5 pm. Despite the fact that the whole garden was announced as a timberland save in 1856 and overhauled as an asylum in 1938. This garden has an elite assortment of avifauna. Other than that it is one of the excellent winged creature asylums in Sri Lanka.Udawatta Kele is on a slope edge stretching between the Temple of the Tooth and the Uplands- Aruppola suburbs. The most elevated point of the edge is 635 meters above ocean level and 115 meters over the close by Kandy Lake.


• Enjoy a local lunch . Spot birds, plants, and so much more in the historic Udawattakele sanctuary Hike among nature and historic ruins and


• By the end of the day we take you back to your hotel in Kandy

After breakfast, you will be heading to Heeloya village to take an extraordinary experience in Sri Lanka. Enter the village and enjoying a cup of herbal drink then you will relax in a few hours. Afterwards you will be able to start a village trail and being able to see growing paddy fields, lush waterfall collections and ingenuous village life. Later you have a chance to bathe in Natural water pool in the village. Then you will return to the village to spend another overnight in Sri Lanka.

Rise early and you will leave towards from village to Kandy then you will start an amazing bird watching tour in Udawattekele Sanctuary. Afterward, you will enjoy your lunch than being able to start a magnificent city tour including the Temple of Tooth Relic. In the evening you will start little walks around the lake round in Kandy.



Your tour will have ended in Kandy city.
