Helsinki This bustling capital city of Finland lies on the Baltic Sea with beautiful bays dotted with scenic islands. This hip city is on the cutting edge of fashion and has a flourishing culinary scene. At the same time, it also has a rich history that still shines through its modern edge. Helsinki Cathedral This imposing cathedral dominates Senate Square and is perhaps the most photographed building in the city. Built by architect Carl Ludvig Engel who worked on it for decades but it was completed in 1852, 12 years after his death. Its most noteworthy features are the sculptures of the twelve apostles that sit above the entrances. It is said that they guard the city from the roof of the church.

Lapland Region The northern region of Finland vast and peaceful – only 3% of the country’s total population resides here.
