Day 1 : Arrival Athens

Location: Athens

Arrival at Athens airport where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in. The afternoon is free at leisure for exploring this never-sleeping city. You may optionally visit Syntagma Square and get into the city’s vibe. Enjoy shopping in one of the most popular streets of the city in the Kolonaki area of Ermou, and have a nice, quiet walk at the beautiful alleys of Plaka (the old district) where you can also find a big number of small shops selling souvenirs and other local artefacts.  

Overnight in Athens.

Day 2 : Athens – Canal Of Corinth – Epidaurus – Mycenae – Olympia (385 Km – 9 Hrs)

Location: Olympia

Wake up to breakfast at the hotel before leaving towards the Corinth Canal, where you will make the first short stop. After Corinth we will drive to Epidaurus and visit the ancient theatre, known worldwide for its spectacular acoustics. Then we will enter the Argolis region, the golden land of Homer's Mycenae, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Dating back to the second century BC, Mycenae was one of the major centers of Greek civilization and a military stronghold that dominated much of southern Greece. You will see the Cyclopean Walls, the Lion Gate, the Royal Tombs, including Agamemnon's 3 Clytemnestra, and the Treasury of Atreus, a magnificent sculpture from the 14th century BC. In the afternoon (optional stop to buy souvenirs) then,  departure to Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games, passing through the cities of Tripoli and Megalopolis.

Day 3 : Olympia – Delphi (330Km – 8 Hrs)

Location: Delphi

Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the archaeological site of Olympia with the Temple of Zeus, the temple of Hera, the altar of the Olympic flame, the stadium and the archaeological museum. Exit via Patras (short stop) to Rio, crossing the bay by the new Antirio bridge. We will pass through the city of Nafpaktos and from there, along the coastal road to Delphi, formerly known as the navel of the world. In the afternoon visit the picturesque mountain village of Arachova.


Overnight in Delphi (or Itea).

Day 4 : Delphi – Athens (160 Km – 9 Hrs)

Location: Delphi

Breakfast in the hotel. Visit the archaeological site and the museum of Delphi. Delphi, formerly known as the navel of the world. You will pass by spring Castalia, visit the archaeological site and see the monument of the kings of Argos, the temple of Pronaia, the Treasury of the Athenians, the Athenian Stoa, the polygonal wall, the monument of Plataea and the Temple of Apollo famous for its oracle and museum at Delphi, with its spectacular exhibits include the frieze from the Sifnian treasury, the Sphinx of Naxos and the statue of Antinous, the metopes from the Athenian treasury, the famous bronze charioteer, and many more artefacts. In the afternoon we return to Athens.

Day 5 : Athens City Tour, Acropolis And Acropolis Museum (50 Km – 4.5 Hrs)

After breakfast and check out (you can leave your luggage at the reception) your tour begins and you explore the striking contrasts that make Athens such a fascinating city. The half-day tour of Athens begins with a photo stop at the Panathinaiko Stadium where the first Olympic Games took place in 1896. It is the only stadium built of white marble. We will continue, passing through the Zappeion and Temple of Olympian Zeus. You will then pass through the Athens Trilogy which includes the University of Athens, the Academy of Athens, and the National Library. Passing next, through the National Garden, Hadrian's Arch, St. Paul's Church, the Parliament, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Schliemann House (Numismatic Museum), the Catholic Cathedral, the old Parliament, Constitution Square, the Russian Orthodox Church, and finally the Acropolis (visit Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Parthenon, Erechtheum with its maiden porch). Your knowledgeable guide will continue your Athens sightseeing tour and museum tour with a leisurely stroll past the Theaters of Herod and Dionysus to visit the ACROPOLIS museum. Avoiding and skipping the lines of the new museum. You will be impressed by the main attractions like votives, artefacts from everyday life, statues from the archaic period, Caryatids, and of course the Parthenon hall with the metopes, pediments and frieze.

Please note that due to certain restrictions in the visiting hours of the new Acropolis museum the order of the program can be changed. In the afternoon transfer to Athens airport and flight back. Approx. arrival time at the airport at 04:00 pm. Book your travel arrangements accordingly, or book an additional night in Athens (not included).
