Accommodation

Considered the best in town, this four-star retreat has a privileged address on the village square. Rooms are traditional yet stylish and come with Hästens beds, each of which is created with natural materials. The hotel itself is run by the Pircher family but began life as the home of nobleman Stefan von Kurz zum Thurn more than 400 years ago. You can see plenty of that heritage throughout the property. The hub of social living will likely be the bar and fireplace room, where you can sip an aperitivo or perhaps a post-dinner gin and tonic, while enjoying the relaxed hubbub with the group (a local crowd often gathers here too). There’s also a good-sized pool for morning dips and a wellness centre with a sauna, steam room, solarium and small fitness centre. Exodus special offer For even more comfort, Hotel Adler offers upgrades for a special price, exclusive to Exodus travellers. There are various room types from which you can choose. Contact us for prices and availability. Worth knowing There are a limited number of double rooms for single use available for a supplement. The accommodation shown has been booked and agreed in advance; however, we may need to make changes to a property of similar or higher standard after you have booked. We endeavour to inform you of any changes in advance; this could, on rare occasions, be at late notice. The Hotel Adler does not cater for vegans

Food

Seven breakfasts, five lunches and six dinners are included, one of which will be an authentic Tyrolean gourmet dinner

Dinners are usually taken in the hotel restaurant, where we enjoy a lovely set menu. Please note, the meal on the evening of Day 1 may be a cold buffet instead of a hot meal.

Dinner is not included on the free day, which may be an excellent opportunity to try the à la carte menu on offer at the hotel or a local pizzeria recommended by your leader. Vegetarians are catered for; however, as this area is renowned for its meats, please be aware there may not be as much variety.

Five pack lunches are provided by the hotel. Each morning there is a buffet with items to make your own lunch (eg cured meat/ham, cheeses, boiled eggs, tomato, cakes, fruit etc). To reduce the use of plastic and single-use items, the hotel provides reusable cutlery and a paper bag, though we recommend bringing a reusable container.

Reviews from travellers on this tour

Beautiful scenery

Lucky to have so much snow making the scenery very beautiful. Challenging walks led by very good guide, sara, she worked very hard to ensure everyone was supported and also to find us safe routes as high avalanche risk this week. Stunning region, will definitely return. Hotel clean and comfortable, breakfasts and packed lunch great with good choices. Evening meals good most nights. Spa was very welcome at end of the day. Our group were all lovely we had a great week. Enjoyed the free day trying cross country skiiing. Snowshoeing is great way to explore mountains and challenge yourself. Thank you

I amazed myself every day!

Learning to snow shoe was simple, but for the first two days I also had to learn how to pick myself up. My feet felt huge. The walking was exhilarating and the views spectacular. I began to understand the mountaineer's drive to be in that terrain. At times I was overwhelmed with the effort it took for me to reach my destination but always felt happy to be participating. Different group members were warm and encouraging. Our guide was OUTSTANDING. I was a teacher and I appreciated all of the incentives Sara used to help me not only finish my walk but enjoy it too. A fantastic and memorable week! Thank you.

Snow shoeing in the Dolomites

This trip gives access to some beautiful areas of the Dolomites with spectacular views and a wide variety of routes depending on the weather and snow conditions. The Hotel Adler and Sara, our guide, worked very hard to ensure our holiday lived up to our expectations.

Snowshoeing in the Dolomites

We have just returned from the Snowshoeing holiday In the Dolimites. We had not been snowshoeing before , others in the party had. Our guide Sara ,was fantastic at bringing the first timers and the experienced along at a pace that fitted both. She was amazing at helping individuals, encouragement and delivered everyday on a challenging walk with a spectacular visual reward at the end and "feel good" personal achievement factor. We felt Sara was super woman, she looked after our welfare and wellbeing constantly and her attention to detail and our safety was amazing. The hotel for this trip was also great. Small and very friendly with great food and facilities to relax with after the days physical challenges. Particularly special beds! Essential at the end of an exercise filled day. We thoroughly enjoyed the week.

Snowshoeing in the Dolomites

A wonderful challenging holiday spent among jagged snow capped peaks, led by a knowledgable, caring guide, with a great sense of fun.

SNOWSHOEING IN THE DOLOMITES

A perfect way to spend Christmas - in an amazing winter wonderland. The scenery was stunning and the walks were absolutely fantastic - planned and thought out carefully by our superb guide.  Very little travelling required each day and our guide always played the best tunes in the mini-bus to keep us awake! The hotel was warm, cosy and very festive.  Great to have a swim and a sauna after a day in the snow. A pre-dinner drink in the lounge by the roaring log fire was a great way to relax whilst our guide dutifully informed us about the plan for the next day. I can't think of a better way to spend a winter holiday.

snow shoe walking in the dolomites

Wow! A great week of mucking around in the snow, with fabulous panoramic views. A bit tougher than I expected, but with the world's best leader (Sara Bull) it was all made very smooth. Excellent hotel, seamless organisation.

SNOWSHOEING IN THE DOLOMITES

Wonderful holiday, great leader, good company, correct activity level for grade of trip, good balance of activity and relaxation, lovely hotel with good facilities and welcoming staff. Would wholeheartedly recommend.

Tirolean snow and snowshoes!

A very fine mix of wild, high mountains and very civilised relaxation in the valley. The Hotel Adler serves excellent food - real winter sport breakfasts, freshly done egg and bacon if you want. Being in the village, the shops are right next door for souvenirs etc. Having a week's free travel pass made rest days etc so much easier to get around.

Walking in a winter wonderland

This trip is a great way to get to know a corner of the Dolomites in the winter. The walks take you through wonderful scenery, often with no other people around. Walking up peaks in the fresh snow is a great feeling, especially when you get to the top!
