Day 1: Start Of Tour In Cairo
Location: Cairo
Touch down at Cairo Airport and meet up with a local Expat Explore representative who will assist you through the passport process. Transfer to your hotel and meet up with your passionate tour leader who will be your guide throughout your stay. Sit in on a tour briefing and learn more about the experiences you can look forward to. Get a good night's rest - tomorrow the adventure begins!
Day 2: Giza Pyramids - Sphinx - Sakkara

Get ready for a day of iconic experiences! Grab breakfast and join your knowledgeable guide as you set out for the Giza pyramid complex - this is your chance to see the only remaining Ancient World Wonder! Encounter some of Egypt's most famous sights. This includes the impressive Pyramids of Giza and the enigmatic Great Sphinx. Then, enjoy a visit to Sakkara to see the Zoser (also known as Djoser) Step Pyramid - this structure is Egypt’s first completed pyramid!

Day 3: Aswan - Philae Temple

Arrive in Aswan after the included flight. Then, meet up with a local Expat Explore representative in Aswan who will accompany the group to the hotel. Start the day with a visit to the picture-perfect Philae Temple. Travel to the temple island via motorboat and gaze in wonderment while approaching this beautiful location from the water. Get a good night's rest at the Aswan hotel before the Egyptian adventures continue tomorrow!
Explore the Philae Temple: Travel along the Nile and encounter the picturesque island of Philae. Philae is home to temples dedicated to Isis, the Egyptian goddess of love. It is believed that the last hieroglyphic was written on the island of Philae! Admire the island’s gorgeous surroundings. Entrance fee: 450EGP
Day 4: Nile Felucca Cruise

Enjoy a hearty breakfast - today is going to be a jam-packed day of exploration! At midday, step aboard a Nile felucca, a wooden sailing boat propelled by oars and sails, and take to the water. Take in the sights of daily life unfolding on the banks of the Nile while sailing past. Learn more about the mighty river and its important place in Egyptian history. Embark on an optional excursion to Abu Simbel this afternoon to explore the mesmerising Sun Temple of Ramses the Great and other impressive remnants of a bygone era. Enjoy an overnight stay on the Nile River aboard the felucca boat.
Sail the Nile River on a traditional felucca sailboat: Enjoy the amazing views while navigating the River Nile in a traditional felucca wooden sailing boat. The covered deck provides shade, and also has comfortable mattresses, making it the perfect place to relax while drifting along one of the world's oldest waterways. At night, the felucca drops anchor. Please note that there are shared toilet facilities on-board. Meals will be cooked and provided by the crew.
Day 5: Kom Ombo - Karnak - Luxor

Grab breakfast and board the air-conditioned vehicle to the city of Luxor. Gaze in wonderment at the grand monuments that have stood here since the time of ancient Thebes. Discover the Kom-Ombo temple with its symmetrical entrances and gorgeous riverside scenery. Then, this afternoon, tour the East Bank of the Nile. Marvel at the immense Karnak and Luxor temples and wander down the Avenue of Sphinxes during visits to these ancient sites. Overnight at a hotel in Luxor this evening.
Discover the Temple of Kom-Ombo: This fascinating “double-temple” is unique in that it is dedicated to two gods, the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Horus. Admire the perfectly symmetrical twin entrances which showcase a gorgeous view of the riverside. Entrance fee: 360 EGP
Explore the immense Karnak Temple Complex: Experience the incredible beauty and ancient history of the Karnak Temple Complex. Often considered the most important Pharaonic site, this grand temple complex features remnants of ancient Thebes. Explore the different areas dedicated to the gods Amun, Mut and Montu. Day 6: Valley Of The Kings - Hatshepsut - Hurghada

Fuel up at breakfast and set out on a tour of the West Bank of Luxor. Get up close and personal with the rich archaeological heritage of the famous Valley of the Kings. Encounter the majesty of the Temple of Hatshepsut (Deir el-Bahri). This structure was built for Egypt's only female pharaoh. Travel onward to the great Colossi of Memnon - the last remains of the temple dedicated to Amenophis III. Finally, travel by air-conditioned vehicle to Hurghada, on the Red Sea coast. Join in on an included dinner and overnight at the all-inclusive resort hotel.
Tour the Valley of the Kings: A trip to the Valley of the Kings is a highlight of all Egypt and Jordan tours! This is one of the richest archeological sites of Earth and is home to many tombs belonging to New Kingdom pharaohs, including the famous King Tutankammen. Entrance fee: 600 EGP
Visit the Temple of Hatshepsut: Explore the stunning temple dedicated to Egypt’s first and only female Pharaoh! This mortuary temple dedicated to the Pharaoh Hatshepsut is considered a masterpiece of ancient architecture. Parts of the temple were destroyed (it is believed that the Queen’s successor carried out the destruction) or restored. Entrance fee: 380 EGP
See the Colossi of Memnon: Marvel at the two impressive stone statues dedicated to Pharaoh Amenhotep III.

Make the most of your free day in Hurghada. Enjoy one of the many activities on offer at the resort. Explore the beach, keep cool in the pool, or simply relax. Alternatively, choose from several exciting optional excursions; why not go snorkeling or scuba diving and experience the region’s amazing coral reefs? Breakfast, dinner and lunch are included today.
Day 8: Hurghada, Red Sea: Free Day

Today calls for pure relaxation! Use your second free day to explore the best of Hurghada and this stunning stretch of coastline along the Red Sea. Grab your bathing suits, take a dip and do some swimming or enjoy optional snorkelling or scuba diving. Wander the golden beaches or simply relax at the resort and enjoy the sun. Don’t forget to fill up on great food and drinks during your day of leisure as breakfast, lunch and dinner are included! Tonight is the last night in Hurghada - tomorrow we are off to Cairo!
Day 9: Cairo

Board the air-conditioned vehicle to Cairo after breakfast. Arrive and embark on a tour of the city of Cairo. Join an outing to the Egyptian Museum for a glimpse into the past. Learn more about the country's fascinating history and see the treasures that were unearthed from King Tutankhamun’s tomb. Next, it’s time to explore the Cairo Bazaar, Khan El Khalili. Roam the alleyways, shop for souvenirs or take a seat at one of the coffee shops and watch the buzz of activity around you.
Visit the Egyptian Museum: Visit the Egyptian Museum in Cairo to learn more about the country’s fascinating history. See treasures from King Tutankhamun’s tomb and 120,000+ other artefacts on display. Mummies, sarcophagi, pottery, jewellery and more! Entrance fee to the Egyptian Museum: 500 EGP
Shop for souvenirs and keepsakes at the bustling Khan El Khalili bazaar: This is a great place to pick up everything from incense and cotton garments to handcrafted metal goods, antique stones and more.
Day 10: Cairo: Free Day

Venture out into Egypt’s capital city on your free day. Cairo is a bustling destination with so many things to see and do. Today, opt to take a trip to the Mediterranean coast to visit the amazing city of Alexandria. Founded by Alexander the Great, Alexandria boasts beautiful beaches and a dazzling seafront corniche dotted with cafes and restaurants. The historical city is also home to catacombs, a fortress, souks and relics from thousands of years ago! Afterwards, return to Cairo and enjoy another evening in the city at your leisure.
Day 11: Cairo - Amman

It’s time to say farewell to Egypt and travel to a brand new country- Jordan! After breakfast, transfer to Cairo airport to catch the flight to Amman - Jordan’s capital city. Touch down in Amman and meet the local Expat Explore tour representative who will transfer the group to the hotel in Amman and provide an overview of what to look forward to over the next few days! This evening, enjoy free time to spend as you wish. Jordan’s modern capital city is full of great neighbourhoods to explore - feel free to ask your guide for recommendations.
Day 12: Amman - Jerash - Petra

Start today with a city tour of Amman. Visit the Amman Citadel, the Roman Theatre and tour the Amman Panorama Art Gallery in Downtown Amman. Later, travel to the Roman city of Jerash. This destination has been inhabited since the Bronze Age and Jerash is one of the largest and best preserved Roman sites outside of Italy! It is well-known for Gerasa - a walled Greco-Roman settlement. Afterwards, it’s time to travel to Petra. Arrive in the evening and settle into the hotel.
Tour Amman, Jordan’s capital city: Explore Jordan’s capital city and marvel at its seamless blend of ancient ruins and modern features. Some of the top sites explored on this tour include the historic Roman Theatre and the Amman Citadel as well as the Amman Panorama Art Gallery in Downtown Amman which highlights the creations of Jordanian artists.
Explore the Roman city of Jerash: Discover one of the largest and most well-preserved Roman sites outside of Italy! Jerash has been inhabited since the Bronze Age and contains ruins of the walled Greco-Roman settlement of Gerasa. Explore these ruins and learn more about the fascinating history of this region.
Day 13: Petra - Wadi Rum

Today is sure to be full of travel highlights! Begin by exploring one of the 7 New Wonders of the World - Petra. Discover the “Red Rose City” which was carved into the rockface millennia ago, with a local guide. Embark on a short horse ride through the Petra Seeq Canyon to reach the famous Treasury! This afternoon, enjoy a stop for lunch before travelling onwards to Wadi Rum. Arrive and marvel at the incredible desert landscapes before getting ready to spend a night under the stars at a Bedouin-style camp. This is a day designed for making memories!
Discover the famous Red Rose City of Petra: Embark on a guided tour of Petra with free time. Back in 300 BC, Petra was the capital of the prosperous Nabatean Kingdom. Swiss explorer Jean Louis Burckhardt famously wrote about it in his diary. “It's one of the most elegant remains of antiquity existing.” He penned this when he discovered the site in 1812. It's easy to see why - Petra is simply breathtaking. It is also known as the 'Red Rose City' due to the colour of the stone from which it was carved. However, the site is best known for its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system.
Sleep in a Bedouin camp in Wadi Rum: Sleep under the stars and experience the magic of the Wadi Rum desert with a night in a private, Bedouin-style camp. The nomadic tribes and clans of the Middle Eastern deserts are known as Bedouins. It’s in this very desert where Lawrence of Arabia fought alongside the Bedouins against the Ottoman Empire during WWI.
Day 14: Wadi Rum - Madaba - Mt. Nebo - Dead Sea - Amman

Tuck into an early breakfast at the camp before heading out on a drive to Madaba. This ancient town is known for its 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land which is housed in the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George. Following this, admire the views on a drive to Mount Nebo, the spot where Moses was granted a view of the Promised Land according to the Hebrew Bible. Next, it’s time for another highlight of the tour - a visit to the Dead Sea! Enjoy time to swim and relax in the salty waters. Finally, return to Amman for an included dinner this evening.
Explore Mount Nebo: According to the Old Testament, Mount Nebo is where Moses lived out his final days and saw the promised land. For this reason, Mount Nebo is a religious site of great importance. It also acts as a fantastic viewing platform from which to gain sweeping views of the Dead Sea and even Jerusalem on a clear day!
Swim in the Dead Sea: The Dead Sea is actually not a sea at all, but a lake, around 30% of which is made up with salt. It is also the lowest place on earth, at 417 feet below sea level. The water's properties are said to cure various skin conditions. It may also relieve respiratory ailments. The lake's mud is used in spa treatments at the hotels along its shore. Day 15: Amman

Expat Explore tries to be as accommodating as possible, however, our tours are unfortunately not designed for people travelling with wheelchairs or severe mobility issues.
Our tours are fast paced because they are designed for you to see the most a destination has to offer. We also want to ensure that you explore as much as possible, which may require long periods without stops on the coach as we drive to a new destination.
You will visit the Pyramids and various temples, which are accessed on sandy and cobbled pathways that are not practical for wheelchairs or mobility aids.
With regards to our accommodation, not all hotels have lifts and this means potentially having to carry bags up and down stairs.

Do you operate a “single share” option and how does it work?
If you are travelling alone there is no compulsory charge - you will share a twin room with another passenger of the same gender. There is an optional single supplement/private room upgrade available for single travellers who wish to have a private room. This can be added at the time of booking or by contacting our team.

Children on tour?
Our tours are not suitable for young children which is why we have a minimum age limit of 10 years old. However, at the discretion of Expat Explore we may consider younger children on certain tours if they meet certain criteria and a request is received in writing via email. Minors (between 10 and 18 years of age) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who accepts full responsibility for them. Unaccompanied minors will not be accepted on tour. Expat Explore reserves the right to decline any booking at our discretion. Any minor (between 10 and 18 years of age) is priced the same as an adult.
