Day 1: Arrive In Cairo
Location: Cairo
Welcome to Egypt! Arrive at Cairo International Airport and meet the tour representative who will assist with the immigration process, passport control and baggage collection. Travel to the hotel in Cairo to freshen up before receiving a brief overview of the tour from your Egyptologist tour guide who will accompany the group for the duration of the trip. Find out more about the incredible experiences to look forward to over the following eight days! Relax at the hotel or head out to explore the city during the free time tonight.
Day 2: Giza Pyramids - Sphinx - Sakkara
Location: Giza, Sakkar

This morning, experience the icons of ancient Egypt! Your Egyptologist guide will accompany the group to the Giza pyramid complex. Here, you can see the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Pyramid of Khafre, the Pyramid of Menkaure, and the Great Sphinx. Next, visit Sakkara to see the unique step pyramid of Zoser (also known as Djoser). This is Egypt’s first-ever pyramid and is constructed of six tombs built on top of each other. Choose to complete the day on an epic note with an optional sound and light show at the Giza Pyramids or a dinner cruise along the famous Nile River for a night of Egyptian food, culture and dancing!

Day 3: Aswan - Philae Temple - Nile Cruise

Catch an early-morning flight to Aswan. Arrive and board the 5-star Nile cruise ship. After some time to freshen up, the Nile quest begins! Start with a short boat ride to Agilkia Island to explore the Temple of Isis at Philae. Built during the Ptolemaic Kingdom (305 BC to 30 BC), the temple is dedicated to Isis, one of ancient Egypt’s oldest goddesses! Widely considered one of the most beautiful temple complexes in Egypt, Philae Temple is sure to astound those who visit. Enjoy the first night of the Nile Cruise tonight.
Explore the Philae Temple: Travel along the Nile and encounter the picturesque island of Philae. Built during the Ptolemaic Kingdom (305 BC to 30 BC), the temple is dedicated to Isis, one of the oldest goddesses of ancient Egypt and worshipped as the paragon of motherly virtues. It is believed that the last Egyptian hieroglyph was written on the island of Philae in the late 4th century. Entrance fee: 450 EGP
Sail the Nile on a 5-star cruise ship: Enjoy three nights sailing down the Nile River on a 5-star cruise ship. Enjoy the incredible views and onboard pool and sundeck!
Day 4: Kom-Ombo - Nile Cruise

This morning, enjoy the opportunity to join the optional excursion to the temples of Abu Simbel, two massive temples in southern Egypt. Part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the "Nubian Monuments", these iconic temples were carved out of the mountainside in the 13th century BC, during the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses II. The tour then continues with a visit to the Temple of Kom-Ombo, a unique 'double' temple dedicated to both the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Haroeris (Horus). After some time to explore the temple, continue onwards to Luxor, where the tour will spend the night on board the 5-star cruise ship.
Discover the Temple of Kom-Ombo: This fascinating “double-temple” is unique in that it is dedicated to two gods, the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Horus. Admire the perfectly symmetrical twin entrances which showcase a gorgeous view of the riverside. Entrance fee: 360 EGP
Day 5: Luxor - Karnak Temple - Nile Cruise

After breakfast, disembark and tour the East Bank of Luxor. Experience the incredible Karnak Temple Complex which is part of the ancient city of Thebes. Dedicated to the powerful ram-headed god Amun, it offers a vast mix of temples, chapels, statues and obelisks. Next, it’s time to explore Luxor Temple, a place of worship that is dedicated to three gods: Amun, his wife Mut and his son Khons. Together these temples and gods were key players in the great Opet Festival which was held each year during the flood season.
Explore the immense Karnak Temple Complex: Experience the incredible beauty and ancient history of the Karnak Temple Complex. Often considered the most important Pharaonic site, this grand temple complex features remnants of ancient Thebes and is one of the most visited ancient sites in Egypt. Entrance fee: 450 EGP
Visit the temple of Luxor: Discover “the world’s largest open-air museum” when visiting the Temple of Luxor. Wander along the enchanting Avenue of Sphinxes and learn more about the Pharaonic and Roman history of the area. Entrance fee: 400 EGP
Day 6: Valley Of The Kings - Hatshepsut - Hurghada
Location: Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut, Hurghada

This morning, it’s time for a tour of the West Bank of Luxor. Visit the world famous Valley of the Kings and explore the incredible tombs of the New Kingdom Pharaohs, such as King Tutankhamen. Then, experience the Temple of Hatshepsut (Deir El Bahary) which is the mortuary temple of the only Pharaoh Queen that ruled Egypt. The day will finish off with a visit to the great Colossi of Memnon - the last remains of Amenophis III’s temple. Finally, hop on board the air-conditioned private bus to Hurghada on the Red Sea coast and look forward to a two-night stay at this all inclusive resort!
Tour the Valley of the Kings: A trip to the Valley of the Kings is a highlight of all Egypt and Jordan tours! This is one of the richest archaeological sites on Earth and is home to many tombs belonging to New Kingdom pharaohs, including the famous King Tutankhamun. Entrance fee: 600 EGP
Visit the Temple of Hatshepsut: Explore the stunning temple dedicated to Egypt’s first and only female Pharaoh! This mortuary temple dedicated to the Pharaoh Hatshepsut is considered a masterpiece of ancient architecture. Parts of the temple were destroyed (it is believed that the Queen’s successor carried out the destruction) or restored. Entrance fee: 380 EGP
See the Colossi of Memnon: Marvel at the two impressive stone statues dedicated to Pharaoh Amenhotep III.
Stay at an all-inclusive Red Sea resort: Enjoy two nights at an all-inclusive resort situated in Hurghada, on the Red Sea! With a full free day, simply relax in the resort or take part in various optional activities such as snorkelling and scuba diving.
Day 7: Hurghada: Free Day

This is a free day for you to enjoy however you wish. The resort in Hurghada offers a large swimming pool complex, long sandy beaches and all-inclusive food and drink; total relaxation awaits! Alternatively, choose to take part in any number of water sports activities, including full-day snorkelling and scuba diving excursions. The seas around Hurghada offer some of the best coral reef dive spots in the world, offering the opportunity to see many colourful fish species, including the Red Sea Clownfish, Emperor Angelfish, Picasso Trigger Fish and Moray Eels. Overnight at the resort in Hurghada.
Day 8: Hurghada - Cairo
Location: Hurghada, Cairo

This morning, travel back to Cairo by air-conditioned private minibus. Arrive at the hotel with some time to freshen up before setting out to explore more of Egypt’s capital city on a tour of Cairo! Begin with a visit to the Egyptian Museum to learn more about the country's incredible ancient history. Afterwards, explore Khan El Khalili, a bazaar crammed with souvenir shops, cafés and shisha bars which is a great place to pick up a few souvenirs!

We welcome all travellers on our tours but we would like to ensure that you are as comfortable as possible. In light of this, please ensure that you are happy with the below information and level of fitness required.
Expat Explore tries to be as accommodating as possible, however, our tours are unfortunately not designed for people travelling with wheelchairs or severe mobility issues.
Our tours are fast paced because they are designed for you to see the most a destination has to offer. We also want to ensure that you explore as much as possible, which may require long periods without stops on the coach as we drive to a new destination.
You will visit the Pyramids and various temples, which are accessed on sandy and cobbled pathways that are not practical for wheelchairs or mobility aids.
With regards to our accommodation, not all hotels have lifts and this means potentially having to carry bags up and down stairs.

Do you operate a “single share” option and how does it work?
If you are travelling alone there is no compulsory charge - you will share a twin room with another passenger of the same gender. There is an optional single supplement/private room upgrade available for single travellers who wish to have a private room. This can be added at the time of booking or by contacting our team.

Children on tour?
Our tours are not suitable for young children which is why we have a minimum age limit of 10 years old. However, at the discretion of Expat Explore we may consider younger children on certain tours if they meet certain criteria and a request is received in writing via email. Minors (between 10 and 18 years of age) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who accepts full responsibility for them. Unaccompanied minors will not be accepted on tour. Expat Explore reserves the right to decline any booking at our discretion. Any minor (between 10 and 18 years of age) is priced the same as an adult.
