Tour Overview
A hike to Everest Base Camp is the adventure of a lifetime, a journey for those whose hopes and dreams float above the clouds. Trekking to Nepal's Everest Base Camp also allows us to embark on an epic journey that Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay embarked on in 1953. The journey begins in ancient Kathmandu, where you can acclimate and explore the city at your leisure while waiting for your ascent. Your journey to Everest base camp at 5,364m up to the base of the world's highest mountain will take you across bridges crossing air vents, through hidden Buddhist monasteries, and deep into the heart of the world where sherpa hot and hard culture thrives. Nothing compares to the rush and sense of accomplishment that hikers feel when they see the power and grace of the mighty mountain up close. The 16-day Everest Base Camp Trek itinerary is intended for novice hikers in good health and fitness. The long distance between daily routes, the constant altitude gain, and the separate rest days ensure that we are properly acclimated to fully enjoy our trek to Everest Base Camp. However, if you want to take on a greater challenge offered by our agency, Go Nepal, and "get off the beaten path," the Everest base camp through the Gokyo lakes in 18 days would be ideal. A 14-day trek is another option for experienced trekkers with limited time.
