Day 01: Bandaranaike International Airport- Kegalle

Upon your arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, our staff will be there to warmly welcome you. From there, we will transfer to Kegalle, the mountain City of Sri Lanka. En route, we will visit the Millennium Elephant Foundation. Here, you will witness the elephants frolicking at the nearby river and see orphaned baby elephants being bottle-fed. at the Millennium Elephant Foundation, you will have the opportunity to experience the unique lifestyle of elephants. You will spend the day with an elephant, walking alongside it while learning about the foundation and the elephants it cares for. Later, you will have the chance to bathe the same elephant in the river and visit the Elephant Dung paper factory. after an enriching time spent with the elephant, we will return to the hotel for relaxation.

Day 02 Kandy

After breakfast, depart for Kandy, also known as the sacred Buddhist site and popularly referred to as the city of Senkadagalapura. This historical city served as the last capital of the Sinhala kings, fostering the flourishing of Sinhala culture for over 2,500 years until the British occupation in 1815. Kandy is situated on a plateau surrounded by picturesque mountains, home to lush tea plantations and diverse rainforests.
At the heart of the city lies the scenic Kandy Lake, also known as Bogambara Lake, offering a serene setting for leisurely strolls. Day 03 Kandy

After breakfast, embark on a visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, located near Kandy. Spend the morning immersed in the captivating beauty of this renowned botanical paradise. Established formally in 1843, the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens sprawl across an impressive 147 acres. Its origins trace back to as early as 1371 during the reign of King Wickramabahu III, but the current layout was developed under the supervision of Alexander Moon in 1821. Later, under the guidance of superintendent George Gardner in 1844, the gardens expanded and gained independence. During World War II, it served as the Southeast Asian Headquarters of the Allied Forces.

Day Four Dambulla

Transfer to the largest kingdom of Dambulla and visit an ancient Cave temple en route, adorned with intricate frescoes and magnificent Buddha statues. Stop at Kandalama, situated on the banks of the Kandalama Reservoir, to enjoy an early morning bird watching trip along the banks of the Kandalama Wawa, observing the rich bird life. The Dambulla cave temple, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a sacred pilgrimage site spanning 22 centuries. This cave monastery boasts five sanctuaries, making it the largest and best-preserved cave-temple complex in Sri Lanka. Day Five: Sigiriya

After breakfast, embark on a journey to explore the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress and the nearby Pidurangala Rock, both renowned for their historical significance and breathtaking vistas.
Sigiriya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stands as a testament to ancient engineering and architectural brilliance. Rising nearly 200 meters above the surrounding landscape, it was originally constructed by King Kashyapa in the 5th century. The fortress, adorned with stunning frescoes of celestial maidens, served as a royal palace and fortress. Day Seven Anuradhapura| Polonnaruwa

Begin your exploration of one of the best-preserved ruins of ancient Ceylon at the UNESCO World Heritage City of Polonnaruwa. Conclude the day with a serene boat ride on Parakrama Samudraya. Polonnaruwa became the second capital of Sri Lanka after Anuradhapura's destruction in 993. It showcases Brahmanic monuments built by the Cholas and the grand ruins of the garden city created by Parakramabahu I in the 12th century.
A significant period in Polonnaruwa’ s history began with King Vijayabahu I (1055–1110), who recaptured the entire island and established Polonnaruwa as the new capital. Vijayabahu married a second queen from the Kalinga (Orissa) Royal Family, resulting in a son, Vikramabahu I, and a daughter, Ratnavali. His sister, Mitta, married a Pandya Prince, with whom she had three sons. Manabharana, her eldest, married Ratnavali. Their son, Parakramabahu I (1153–1186), was the grandson of Vijayabahu I and a prince of Sinhalese-Pandyan-Kalinga descent. Parakramabahu I, renowned for his engineering prowess, naval power, artistic and cultural contributions, and inscriptions in both Sinhala and Tamil, left a lasting legacy. The Chulavamsa, written by Dharmakirthi, updates the Mahavamsa to include Parakramabahu’ s achievements.
Lankathilaka, Lankathilaka is an impressive ancient Buddhist temple in Polonnaruwa. It features a massive standing image of Buddha, which is housed within the remnants of a large structure. The temple's architectural style reflects the grandeur of the Polonnaruwa period, showcasing intricate carvings and detailed designs.
Watada Gaya, Watadagaya, also known as the Vat adage, is a circular relic house that once housed the Sacred Tooth Relic of Buddha. It is renowned for its elegant design, with four entrances leading to the central stupa, each adorned with guard stones and intricate stone carvings depicting religious motifs.
Sathmahal Prasada. Sathmahal Prasada is a unique stepped pyramid structure in Polonnaruwa. Its design is distinct from typical Sri Lankan architecture, featuring multiple tiers that taper upwards.
