Day 1 : WELCOME TO VIETNAM – HANOI ARRIVAL

Location: Hanoi

Accommodation: Hotel

Your trip begins with your arrival in Vietnam. Our driver will meet and greet you at the airport. You will be escorted to the hotel by private transportation. Check in to the hotel and get over the jet lag. After enjoying the first day yourself and return to the hotel for a relaxing sleep.

Day 2 : BA VI ECO TOUR (B/L)

Location: Ba Vì, Hanoi

Accommodation: Hotel

Have breakfast at the hotel then you will be escorted by an experienced English-speaking guide, to the countryside located on the outskirt of Hanoi. The approximate travel time is one hour and 30 minutes.

Then arriving at Mr. Duoc’s house, you will be welcomed with fresh honey tea and green lentils or lotus seeds made by his family. Imagine a Vietnam in the old time of war through the stories of Mr. Duoc, who is not only a veteran who lives during those hard times but also a green tea expert. You will visit his tea plantation which is one of the largest in Ri village and join with locals in green tea processing. Afterward, have a Vietnamese cooking demonstration with another local host and then enjoy a home-cooked lunch in a lovely garden.

After that, you will wander around the village and mingling with local people. You will visit the local craftsman who has been skilled at making conical hats from a very young age and other workshops in the village to see how people there make tofu or shell the rice. As you meander through the countryside you will experience the friendliness of the local people greeting you along the way. Then join your guides for a leisurely cycling trip along the country roads. Observe traditional Vietnamese rural life as the local people work in the paddy fields. Along the way, watch out for a water buffalo plowing a paddy field while ducks swim across the top. Stop at another host family for foot bathing following the recipes of Muong ethnic group and relaxing time before embarking on your private boat for a trip along the Da river.

Then we transfer back to Hanoi and overnight in Hanoi.

Day 3 : HANOI LEISURE - TRANSFER TO SAPA BY LIMOUSINE BUS (B)

Location: Sa Pa

Accommodation: Hotel

Have an early breakfast at the hotel and complete the check-out formalities. Take the limousine bus to get to Sapa, the travel time will take around 6 hours. Upon arrival to Sapa, you will be transferred to your accommodation. The rest of the day is free to explore this charming town right in the middle of the mountains.
Overnight in Sapa.

Day 4 : SAPA – Y LINH HO – LAO CHAI - TAVAN (B/L/D) - OVERNIGHT AT HOMESTAY

Location: Ta Van, Lao Chai

Have breakfast at the hotel. Meet your guide around 9:30 am and start your 12 km trekking. You will visit Y Linh Ho and Lao Chai villages of the Hmong minorities. On the way admire the breathtaking landscapes of rice terraces and mountains. Have lunch in Lao Chai village nearby the river. Continue your hike to Ta Van village of the Dzay people. Here you will stay overnight and have the opportunity to experience the daily life of and original customs of local people.
Overnight in Sapa.

Day 5 : TAVAN – GIANG TA CHAI – SU PAN – SAPA (B/L) - LIMOUSINE BUS TO HANOI

Location: Hanoi, Giàng Tả Chải - Tả Van, Sử Pán

Once you get energy for your last day trek by having a delicious breakfast, you leave for Giang Ta Chai village of the Red Dao minority. You will trek through a bamboo forest, which belongs to Hoang Lien National Park. On the way, you will pass by a waterfall and rattan bridge, where you will have time to take a rest and enjoy the surroundings. You will find a nice place to enjoy lunch.
After lunch, you continue toward Su Pan, a small village located by the road. From here you will start your journey back to Sapa by car. You will be transferred back to Hanoi by limousine bus.
Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 6 : HANOI - HALONG BAY - OVERNIGHT ON CRUISE (B/L/D)

Location: Hạ Long Bay

In the morning, after breakfast at the hotel, the Cruise team will pick you up. Take the most scenic route to reach Halong Bay, taking you across the Red River Delta with emerald green rice paddies stretching for as far as the eyes can see. On arrival to Halong, you will enjoy a cruise on the Bay and explore the limestone rocks and the karst grottoes.

After you are done with your exploration of the bay, it is time to enjoy an utterly delicious seafood lunch, after which there will be a trip to the famous limestone cave in Ha Long Bay, you’ll get to spend some time here, kayaking or swimming so that you can get closer to the floating villages and shops. Towards the evening, you will return to the boat for an early dinner, followed by some time at leisure. You can optionally attend the activities taking part on the boat or just relax.

Day 7 : HALONG BAY - HANOI (B/L)

Location: Hanoi

Accommodation: Hotel

Rise early for a lesson in Tai Chi or just to enjoy a hearty breakfast. The boat will make its way back to the port stopping at the Limestone Cave, full of stalagmites and stalactites. From here, it’s clear sailing back to the main harbor and the return to Hanoi around 17:00.

Day 8 : HANOI FLY TO HOI AN (B) FLIGHT INCLUDED

Have breakfast at the hotel and a relaxing time before boarding a flight from Hanoi to Hoi An. Approximately flight time is one hour and 30 minutes. Upon your arrival, you will be transferred from the airport to your hotel in Hoi An’s center.

Day 9 : HOI AN LEISURE - OPTIONAL TOUR WITH HOI AN ECO TOUR (B)

Today you will have free time to explore Hoi An at your own pace, seeing what interests you. This ancient town is full of Japanese merchant houses and pagodas, temples, and antique warehouses. Or just lounge about in a laid-back riverside café on the bank of the Thu Bon River.

OPTIONAL TOUR - HOI AN ECO TOUR

Today your English-speaking guide will meet you at the hotel and take you on a tour of the countryside and rivers around Hoi An. As you meander through the countryside you will experience the friendliness of the local people greeting you along the way. After that, you will board the Hoi An Eco-tour boat for a river cruise to meet and engage with local fishermen. Enjoy a hands-on experience of traditional net fishing. You will also take a paddle boat trip in a unique Vietnamese bamboo basket boat down the waterways of a coconut palm paradise.

In the afternoon, leisure time on your own exploring the ancient town or relaxing at the hotel.

Day 12 : HO CHI MINH CITY – CU CHI TUNNEL (B)

Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Cu Chi Tunnel

Today you will be picked up by an experienced English-speaking guide to Cu Chi Tunnels, located in the countryside near Ho Chi Minh City. The approximate travel time is one hour and 30 minutes. The residents of Cu Chi took the war underground into a highly developed network of tunnels that at its height stretched as far as Cambodia and included meeting rooms, kitchens, and triage areas. Imperceptible from the ground, opposing armies could roll their tanks over the bunkers without causing damage to the tunnels below. Living conditions were harsh – in addition to fighting the war, resident’s battled food and oxygen scarcity, venomous insects, and cramped living quarters. Gain important insight into the prolonged struggle against invading armies, and appreciation for the resilience and spirit of the Vietnamese people. After that, travelers can try the delicious manioc which was the main food for guerilla-warriors in Cu Chi during the war. Visitors can try to fire off an AK47 or MK16 or machine guns at the nearby shooting range.

Day 13 : HO CHI MINH CITY – MEKONG DELTA (B/L)

Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong River Delta

7:20 am Pick up from the hotel.

Kick start your day with a hearty breakfast and a trip to Mekong Delta follows, depart for My Tho, the town that lies on the left side of the Mekong River. Boarding the sampan and cruising down the river around the four beautiful islands known as Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Tortoise islands.

Stop over at Unicorn Island, go walking around the country lane and see orchards, and enjoy tropical fruits and folk song music performed by the local people. Visit the fruit plantation.

Riding a hand-rowed sampan through Thoi Son canal and treat yourself in the beauty of the countryside, visit the family business, visit honey-bee farm, enjoy honey tea and coconut candy workshop.

Have lunch at local restaurant. Break time.

In the afternoon, time for cycling around the Tan Thach village, meet the local villagers to experience the local daily life in the Mekong delta. Hammock relaxing and enjoy cool breeze for those can’t join the cycling trip.

Return to Ho Chi Minh.

Day 14 : HO CHI MINH CITY TRANSFER TO MUI NE (B)

Enjoy your time in Ho Chi Minh. Then we will be transferred to Mui Ne by car. On Mui Ne, we will check in at the hotel.

20 days were long enough to take an overseas trip but too short to explore all the best of Vietnam. However, we had a chance to see the major attractions like Sapa, Halong Bay, Hoi An, Saigon, and Mui Ne. For me, the best part of the trip was at Mui Ne beach. As we spent 4 days there, we experienced almost all the best things: visiting Mui Ne Fishing Village and seeing the women in classic Vietnamese conical hats hunched over bags of shellfish are a fascinating sight to behold, chowing down on delicious seafood, and of course lounging on the Beach... The vacation was really well planned. Excellent food and lodging were also provided. We certainly received value for our money. Will undoubtedly return to Vietnam at some point as it is a stunning nation. Still, there aren't many unfavorable remarks to be found.
