Tour Overview

This trek has been designed to give you a meaningful and value-added experience by learning in-depth about the Sherpa people you will come across, villages you will stay at, and their famous residents. Our team will ensure that you are given the facts, the healthiest and most varied meals in the Himalayas, to enjoy your holiday to the fullest. This trek’s numerous highlights are visiting villages that are home to World record-setting/breaking Sherpas. You will even stay and dine at the homes of two of these famous Sherpas. One of the spiritual highlights is the Tengboche monastery that offers an incredible panorama of Mount Nuptse 7901 meters, Lhotse 8501 meters, Ama Dablam 6812 meters, and of course, Mount Everest! This monastery was first built in 1916 and has been rebuilt twice. It was damaged by the 1923 earthquake and a fire in 1989. The current building was rebuilt after the fire. The renowned Abbot of the monastery, Lama Ngawang Tenzing Jangpo Rimpoche, passed away quietly on the 9th of October 2020.

Beautiful experience in Nepal

26-Mar-2021

Spending time in Kathmandu and trekking to Everest Base Camp with Responsible Adventures was one of the best experiences of my life. Raj and Chandra are the most knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating individuals I've ever met abroad. If you decide to trek with Responsible Adventures, you'll be amazed at how much you learn about Nepal, from the history and major landmarks to the flora and fauna of the country to the workings of the small villages you'll pass through. The guides are kind and laid-back while making sure you have everything you need/want, and really do make you feel at home. I can't say enough good things about Raj and his crew.

Safe and informative trekking

26-Mar-2021

Raj and his superbly run Responsible Adventures is my go-to when I do guided treks in Nepal, and when my friends ask for recommendations for trekking agencies. My experiences with Responsible Adventures have always been excellent - knowledgeable and accommodating guides who are experienced with regard to safety and the terrain that they lead clients through. Look out also for the special treats available on every trek. All in all highly recommended!

Amazing trekking team

26-Mar-2021

I was planning a 3-person trek to Annapurna Base Camp over Xmas. We have all been to Nepal and received many personal recommendations from fellow trekking friends. Responsible Adventure came highly recommended by a friend who had spend some time living in Nepal and has trekked with them numerous times. The owner, Raj, speaks excellent English and hence, planning and booking everything was a breeze as he was able to offer many recommendations and advice, which was highly appreciated as we were working on a tight schedule. Chandra was assigned to us as the main guide, and I could not sing enough praises for him as he was very considerate, friendly and helpful all throughout the trip! Some little surprises (I should not spoil it) along the way was a bonus! We always felt safe with Chandra around to guide us. Our 2 porters also provided excellent service and were always cheerful and helpful. Raj happened to come along on our trip too, and his many years of experience was very valuable. This was especially the case when we had some hiccups with our flights (due to the weather!) on the way back. We knew we were in capable hands and just sat back and relax with our cup of tea while he sorted us out! The trek price includes all meals on the trek and accommodation in Pokhara and huts along the way. We love our food and must say that the meals were above expectations. I had fallen a little ill along the way, but the team was always supportive and ready to adjust to my pace. Perhaps the trip is priced slightly above the rest, but I think the extra added on value is definitely priceless. All in all, I thought we had a great trek and would highly recommend trekking with Responsible Adventures in Nepal if you have a chance!

A memorable journey with Responsible Adventures

02-Jan-2020

My family of 4 has just returned from one of our most memorable trips in Nepal. The memorable experience was made possible by the wonderful team from Responsible Adventures. They have truly lived up to their name. Although Raj was not able to join us due to conflicting schedule, the assigned trek leader Anand and team mates like Chandra have made efforts to see to our every need. Morning wake up call with a cup of piping hot tumeric ginger honey drink was much welcomed in a cold winter morning. Organic coffee accompanied by our preferred breakfast choice were served daily. Filtered water was made ready for us at anytime and organic food was served on most meals. We have fallen in love with Nepal and looking forward to another adventure with Responsible Adventures. Keep up the good work!

Everest Base Camp trek in December.

29-Dec-2019

"Had an incredible experience with Raj as my guide. He was always at his professional best overseeing every details of the trek. This was the 4th time I had the pleasure to be under his able hands. For a start, he made sure that I had all the right equipment before we flew to Lukla. Raj was always mindful that he had a 71 year old man in tow and was careful in maintaining a pace that I could follow comfortably. The extra effort he made to ensure that I had the food I liked such as cacao powder, turmeric and honey drinks, guacamole etc was most commendable. It really made my day to have such comfort foods during this challenging trek. Knowing I am an avid golfer, he actually arranged for me to tee off at 3 different locations at over 5000m, the highest and toughest one was on Base Camp itself as it was snowing and the wind was blowing really hard. It was an experience never to be forgotten. I Have no hesitation to recommend my friends to trek with Raj and his Responsible Adventures. Not only is he very knowledgeable about the mountains and the safety issues, he is extremely mindful of the cultural and historical heritage of the people of Nepal. He is able to provide a safe, challenging and educational trek that only a guide with his years of experience can offer."

Gokyo Lake Trek

21-Oct-2019

" have known Raj (now of Responsible Adventures) for many years and always had him organize my Nepal treks. Raj has years of experience, knows all the correct people to contact for quick responses to planning and permits (sometimes very difficult in Kathmandu), has an impeccable command of the English language, extremely knowledgeable in the areas that I have trekked in, and interacts as a friend rather than just a trek leader. I have had many amazing experiences with Raj at the same time feeling safe and secure. He really is a fun guy but also the utmost professional approach. I will be back Raj."

Great vacation

05-Apr-2019

"Everything was well organized from the time we arrived at the airport in Kathmandu to when we were dropped back off 9 days later. We gave them an idea of what we liked to see and do, and they created a perfect itinerary for us. Due to weather, our internal flight to Pokhara was cancelled, but Raj was able to quickly arrange a private driver so that we only missed 1 day, instead of possibly 2 days trekking. I also have a gluten intolerance, and they made sure I had alternative things to eat when it was a gluten meal. The morning health tea delivered to our room was tasty, and so was the fresh ground organic coffee every breakfast! We would definitely recommend Raj and Responsible Adventures! I am also talking with my school staff about a possible school trip to Nepal."
