Tour Overview
Our 22 Days Everest Three High Pass Trek consists of crossing three high altitude passes, namely, Khongma La Pass (5,535m), Cho La Pass (5,420m) and Renjo La Pass (5,465m). During the Everest three high pass trek, we need to walk some long days (9 hours) and strenuous accents, so a high level of fitness is required. This trek combines crossing these passes with the other ‘must-do’ areas of the Khumbu: Lukla, Mount Everest Base Camp, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche Monastery, Gokyo Lakes and the Khumjung Village. Flying in Himalaya and out of Lukla, two routes are possible, clockwise and anti-clockwise. But both trek routes provide us with the same terrain and same marvelous views. Three high pass trek is definitely the definitive Khumbu region trek for the adventure-seeking hikers! Kongma La Pass (5,540m) has been described as more of a ‘precarious struggle among skittering stones’. The trek route takes you across a glacier and glacier-fed river and the climb up to the pass at 5,540m is the highest on Everest three high pass trek. The Cho La Pass (5,420m) is formed between the snow-clad summits of Lobuche (6,189m) and Cholatse (6,443m). The steep climb is challenging and icy in the way but from the summit, there are magnificent views of mount Ama Dablam. Top of the Renjo La Pass (5,464m/17927ft), the views of Everest reportedly beat even the panoramic Everest views from Kalapatthar. There are also stunning views of green Gokyo Lakes. We can regain their breath as they take in the views from the top of the Kongmala pass where Mount Lhotse and Mount Makula make their presence felt and the view of the turquoise lakes below contrast the majesty of the Himalayas. Three high Pass trek takes in not just the three passes, but also a trip up excellent viewpoint Kalapatthar, which is the famous place to view Mt Everest and a trek to Gorak Shep (5,180m) and Everest Base Camp (5,364m). The names of which are very familiar to anyone who has an interest in the Khumbu region or knows something about the history of Mt. Everest. Tengboche Monastery, the highest monastery in the Everest Region, and the Gokyo Lakes, the highest freshwater bodies in Nepal are also highlights of this trek. Sherpa Expedition and Trekking will let you achieve this adventure of crossing the three high passes of Nepal safely and with much excitement. Exploring the lifestyle of the local Sherpa people and enjoying the view of the Everest region is as thrilling as it sounds! Trekkers can wish to view other Everest Region treks we offer.
