Accommodation Name: Lavanya Boutique Hotel

In the morning, enjoy Mekong Island bicycleTour: Koh Dach Island - Return by local ferry:

This morning, you will explore Koh Dach island by bikes. Upon arrival at the pier, you will start your journey to Koh Dach Island by embarking a local, private boat or local ferry. On this 7-kilometer long island, disembark and continue your journey by bike. You get to see how quickly the landscape and environment shift from an energetic city to peaceful, rural life of farms, wooden houses and small, charming pagodas. You will start the tour right at the pier, and you can take your time - feel free to stop at any time to take pictures or explore for a while. After around 6, easy-going kilometers without any elevation, you will reach a traditional stilt house that serves as a small restaurant and have a nice lunch break in a relaxed and jovial atmosphere. Here, you can also rest for a while before continuing your journey slowly towards the pier where you will start your return journey back by boat into the vibrant Phnom Penh.

In the afternoon, visit Phnom Penh city:

The capital city of Cambodia is located at the meeting point of three rivers: the Bassac, the massive Tonle and the impressive Mekong. Phnom Penh owes its difference to other Asian capitals, thanks to the modernity coupled with provincial charm and the French-colonial touches set amongst Angkorian monuments. Your eyes won't ever get bored during a leisurely tour around the different streets. The journey through the bustling capital will begin with a visit to the National Museum. It is the largest of the country as it showcases the world's greatest collections of Khmer sculptures, ceramics and ethnographics. The last stop is at the Royal Palace which strikingly dominates the skyline of the city. Previously, the complex of 4 main areas functioned as the Royal Residence of the King of Cambodia. Then, continue on to Phnom Penh Central market for some shopping time at your leisure. After the tour, head back to the hotel.

While Phnom Srey remains undeveloped and covered with vegetation, Phnom Pros is known for its collection of modern pagodas and stupas memorializing the thousands of victims murdered during the Khmer Rouge regime. Back on the road, your last stop will be at Wat Nokor Bachey, a rather unusual temple with distinctive architecture. After crossing the bridge, you will arrive in Kompong Cham City.

Travel to Kratie through the city of Kampong Cham. Upon arrival in Kratie, you will cross the Mekong by ferry to reach the local island of Koh Trong: it is a small island on the Mekong river, characterized by fine sandy beaches (during the dry season) and reachable only by ferry from the city of Kratie. Head North in your car to reach a small village, then cross the river by the local ferry and prepare yourself for a journey to the local village tribe. The village’s chief will be waiting for you on the other side of the river, and he’ll take you on his motorized tractor, named “Koyoun.” Along the way, you will pass by some pretty villages, as well as rice and casava plantations, until you reach the hike starting point. The hike is about 7 kilometers, after which you’ll finally reach the local tribe village located on the bank of a small river.
Upon arriving, you will meet the villagers and enjoy a refreshing drink with them, learning about their culture, lifestyle, and if you like, you can even have a taste of their traditional rice wine, Srah Thnam. Meanwhile, lunch will be cooked using traditional methods and using seasonal ingredients - something you may want to check out!
After the delicious lunch and a short rest, continue your hike for another 1.5 kilometers, when you’ll reach a stunning, panoramic viewpoint. During the hike, the villagers will show you some edible plants (be brave and try some, if you’d like!) and some jungle survival techniques, before heading back to the starting point.

Arriving back at the village, make your way back to town by traditional boat, following the river downstream. Along the way, take a dip in the crystal-clear water, if you’d like. When you make landfall, ride back on the tractor to the local ferry, and then finally to your private vehicle, which will take you back to your hotel.

The Las Vegas and the National Parks Hiking Tour is a deal not to be missed. What a phenomenal trip! We were 14 people in our minibus and it was great to connect to all of them. So many stories to share. The cool thing about this tour is that it attracts hikers of all kinds: laid back hikers as well as more experienced ones could find beauty in every single destination this tour took us to. I will for sure join another tour soon. Thank you guys, also, for the assistance provided throughout the trip. Loved it!

Unforgettable 8-day trip to Kenya

01-Mar-2023

I just came back from an unforgettable 8-day trip to Kenya. A mix of relaxation and adventure. I had never traveled with a group before and, honestly, I was a little skeptical at the beginning. Pauline at Today Voyages convinced me that this was the right tour and the right destination for me. And the truth is... she was right. Tsavo and Watamu are such awesome destinations, our guide was impeccable and it was a small group: a family of 4, a young couple, and us. We became friends. Highly recommended!
