We had a wonderful trip with your company

15-Sep-2024

We had a wonderful trip with your company! Our tour guide, Kim, was both professional and attentive to all our needs. She made our trip fun! Our driver, Bob, had a fun personality and also gave us a very safe drive. He was "da man" as we all said! Our guide in Nova Scotia filled us with the history of the area. Very interesting! Our guide on Prince Edward's Island was good too. We also made some good friends!

I had a thoroughly enjoyable

07-Jul-2024

I had a thoroughly enjoyable trip to Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Loretta was an excellent Tour Director. She kept us informed throughout (stops, hotels, meals, things to do, etc.). I would travel with Tours of Distinction again.

I am a very picky person

29-Jun-2023

I am a very picky person when it comes to traveling. Wanted to do this tour for two years. It is the perfect trip for all the must see things in Nova Scotia that you all have heard about. Each hotel was above the norm. The restaurant choices were great also. Our group consisted of 24 including driver and guide. Small bus, very comfortable. I would not hesitate to book with Tours of Distinction again..

Our overall experience was positive

01-Oct-2024

Our overall experience was positive. Brian, local tour guide for Nova Scotia, was great: full of historic and current information of the Province. Nice touch that he included personal experiences of the province, We did find the tour schedule jammed packed and we would have preferred more free time. An example of when/where this could have happened was on Prince Edward Island, day 6 of the tour, we spent 2 full hours at a jam/preserve store which was way too long. We hoped local tour guide, Larry, would have been able to intervene. He did not. The sailing ship ride out of Halifax, over two hours, was a poor substitute for the Tatoo performance. This was a party boat with no commentary as to what we were seeing. Those two hours of free time would have been appreciated. Our tours of Distinction guide, Kim, did the best she could as this was her own intrduction to this Nova Scotia/PEI tour. Thanks you. Julie Thomas and Laura Eakin (companion travelers)

Just completed 8 day trip

15-Sep-2024

Just completed 8 day trip to Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Kim, our tour director was awesome. Our motorcoach was very comfortable and our driver Bob also did an outstanding job. I highly recommend this duo. I plan on going on many more trips in the future.

Give Marina a raise

09-Jul-2023

Give Marina a raise! This woman is a combo tour guide, therapist, bus mom and overall super human! If you have a mentor program or are thinking about it; she needs to run it. How does she have the energy? I was the only non senior citizen and couldn’t keep up! She made it even better. Every person that stepped off that bus hugged her and asked what tours she would be running in the future. She adapted the tour to her people. That woman knows how to read the room!! I hope you are aware of what you have because in this era ; she is a gem ! I want to be her when I grow up.

A great trips very much depends on the tour director

14-Jul-2023

A great trips very much depends on the tour director. Marina Haksteen was our tour director and absolutely set the gold, or actually the platinum standard. A fun and people person she was always present and looking out for all of us. There were a few glitches but she addressed each and every one calmly and as if they weren't a problem. The one and only genuinely negative experience was the 3 and a half hour CAT ferry ride where many got deathly seasick due to the extremely rough seas. The ferry company should have cancelled that particular crossing -- no fault of Tours of Distinction. With the exception of one restaurant (Ruth & Wimpy's) the restaurants were quite satisfactory or even better. The local tour guides were very good, although the one guide we had for 2 days admitted that his expertise was on material for the 2nd day tour and not the first day. The outsourced company that arranged all the local tour guides should not have scheduled him for that first day. The motels were fine and the staffs friendly and helpful. Decent breakfasts at all. The itinerary was well designed and enjoyed by all, and despite some rain Marina made adjustments so we enjoyed all the scheduled stops. Our bus driver was friendly enough, but at times refused to help load/unload our baggage leaving it to Marina (which she did without showing us her displeasure/frustration), not cleaning the windshield despite being asked to do so, but other than at times not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign his driving was O.K. We would suggest not using him again. In summary, we really enjoyed the trip, would absolutely travel with Tours of Distinction again, will recommend them to others and would hope to have Marina as the tour director for our next trip.
