Your guided holiday to France
Join us on this relaxing holiday to France to uncover historic cities, coastlines and islands. We’ll be based in the old port of La Rochelle, where our local guide will take us on a guided walking tour to see its mediaeval architecture, harbour towers, and charming cobbled streets. Other highlights of this trip include a boat excursion to Fort Boyard, a striking 19th-century sea fortress built to defend the region from naval attacks. Uncover the tranquil Oléron Island, where we’ll visit an oyster farm and enjoy a wine tasting in the Pineau vineyards. Discover the Hennessy distillery, complete with a tasting of this renowned liquor and explore the old town of Cognac. With several days at leisure, you can delve into the local culture at La Rochelle’s museums, or simply relax and soak in the maritime atmosphere.
