What You Carry

During the cycle day you will carry your daily requirements in the pannier provided with the bike. This may include your lunch, wet weather gear, mobile phone and water. A small daypack which can be kept inside the pannier is useful for sightseeing.

Grading

The route follows the 'La Vélodyssée cycle route along dedicated cycleways and quiet roads that give easy access to historic towns and cities along the way. Overall, the cycling is moderate (3) grade with daily cycling distances from 45 to 73km/28 to 45mi. The accent is on keeping a relaxed pace to take in all of the attractions, with time to stop and take photos and perhaps a swim. It is considered suitable for cyclists with a good level of fitness.

Travel includes hybrid rental bikes with lock, repair kit, helmet, handlebar bag, and pannier. Luggage transfer is provided, and travel to Nantes and from La Rochelle is included.
