Tour Overview

This short Annapurna trek is the perfect Himalayan escape for first time trekkers seeking big mountain views without the demands of high-altitude trekking. In just a few days, you’ll journey through peaceful villages, terraced fields and rhododendron forests alive with birdsong, all set beneath the awe-inspiring backdrop of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
At just 3,200 metres (10,499 feet) at its highest point, this itinerary offers an accessible adventure for first-time trekkers or those easing into multi-day hiking. You’ll enjoy the comfort of our exclusive Eco-Comfort Camps and eco-lodges, carefully positioned in scenic locations to showcase stunning mountain sunrises and peaceful Himalayan evenings without the crowds.
Unlike longer, more strenuous treks, this journey allows you to experience the heart of the Annapurnas in less than a week on the trail, making it ideal for travellers short on time but big on experience. We’ve designed the Annapurna trekking route to avoid the busier commercial paths and instead follow quieter trails that offer a more authentic glimpse into life in the mid-hills of Nepal.
World Expeditions has been crafting Himalayan adventures for nearly five decades, and our expertise ensures every detail is handled with care. Our safety-first approach includes trained guides, a well-paced itinerary, and all meals prepared by our dedicated crew. We provide a complimentary Trek Pack—complete with a quality down jacket and sleeping bag—and our Eco-Comfort Camps add an extra level of comfort with raised beds, clean linen and a relaxed camp atmosphere.
With return flights between Kathmandu and Pokhara included, this short Annapurna trek delivers maximum reward in minimal time. It’s a smart and deeply rewarding way to experience the beauty of trekking in Nepal.

Grading

To determine the grade of a particular adventure we consider a number of factors. These include the condition of the walking terrain, the altitude, the number of pass crossings and the length of the trek. The Annapurna Trek is graded introductory. This is primarily due to the low altitude gains and the condition of the trail which is well defined and not unduly demanding. During the trek you will be walking for up to five to six hours a day at a slow but steady pace. You will need a reasonable level of fitness (remember there is no such thing as an easy trek) and we suggest 30 minutes of aerobic type exercise, (either cycling or jogging) three times a week for the three months leading up to your trek. Hill walking with a daypack in variable weather conditions is also recommended. ...more ...less

Mode of Transport

The tour includes a scenic mountain flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara and return, as well as private vehicle transportation for transfers and drives between trekking locations. Porters are available to carry personal and group equipment throughout the trek.

  • What about environmental impact?

We believe that adventure travel revolves around establishing a strong relationship with the people and environments in which we operate. Our responsible travel policies have been carefully developed to ensure that we minimise the impact of our presence and help to protect the regions we visit while contributing positively to the local community.

  • What should I pack?

Your pre-departure documents include a detailed packing list with items that you need to bring. The pre-departure documents also include information on layering and recommended brands for various items to ensure you are fully prepared for your trip.

  • Do you operate a “single share” option and how does it work?

Yes. World Expeditions does not require single travellers to pay a surcharge for travelling alone on the vast majority of our trips. Our holidays are primarily on a twin share basis, so if you are joining the group as a solo traveller, we will match you with someone of your own gender. The choice is yours however; if you prefer not to share, we do offer single supplements for private occupancy.

  • Are tips included in my trip price?

Tips are not included in the tour cost. Tipping is a personal thing, do not worry about how much, or when, to tip. Tipping guidelines are provided for certain destinations in our pre departure information upon booking, however the best advice will be provided by your tour leader.

  • Am I suited to small-group travel?

We recognise that many of our travellers have not been on a ‘group trip’ before. Yet what our departures provide is both structure and flexibility, allowing you plenty of freedom within the framework of the itinerary. You’ll find that with our maximum group size at 16, you’ll travel in a minimal impact style with a great group of like-minded travellers.

  • Can you advise which vaccinations are recommended?

While our pre-departure kit provides information on vaccinations, we suggest that you consult your doctor, local government inoculation centre or a travel medical specialist in order to get the most current advice regarding vaccination requirements.

It was a fabulously immense experience. For me it was a wholesome experience of the mind, body and emotion. The awesome mountains around me during the trek was mind cleansing and putting one's life into perspective. My body was challenged and achieved with personal satisfaction. The people I came across in the villages during each trek and the Sherpas with me stirred emotions which bonded us and parting with all of them left me sad and empty. Divorced last year, this trip gave me a new outlook in my life! What an awesome experience! ...more ...less

Our Annapurna trip was delightful in every respect. From the cultural dinner and tours in Kathmandu to the villages, people and scenery of the majestic Annapurna region. Our guides and porters were always obliging and encouraging; 'rest is best' and 'slow is the go' were their mantras. We were well fueled and rested after each days trek and fully immersed among the local people and their lives...the days blurred and we easily lost track of the days. ...more ...less

I've never left a country and tour with so much positive energy. Our guide Dilli was so patient, kind and friendly. He was also very attentive and professional when we showed signs of poor health. The route we took on the Annapurna trek took us through very interesting, different and beautiful terrains. We learnt and saw how locals lived and the Nepalese community are one of the most hospitable and friendly people. The trek can be difficult at times but very rewarding with beautiful scenery. We even managed to spot some wild monkeys on the way up. Overall I would definitely recommend this tour! ...more ...less
