The Monastery is also an important pilgrim site for the Buddhists. The great Guru Rinpoche is said to have flown here on the back of a tigress when he brought the teachings of the Buddhist Dharma to Bhutan in the 8th Century. He meditated in the cave for 3 years, 3 months, 3 weeks, and 3 days before subjugating the malicious spirits, and concealing profound treasures for the benefit of sentient beings, the monastery was later built. The cave is said to be the origin of Buddhism in Bhutan. Nearby there is a cafeteria where you can stop for refreshments and lunch.

On the return drive to Paro, visit 7th-century Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the 108 temples constructed by the Tibetan king Songtsen Gampo. Kyichu is built like the Jokhang in Lhasa. Unique and wonderful experience, Thank you World Tour Plan !

21-Oct-2022

I fell in love with Bhutan while doing the Laya - Gasa trek, which is magnificent, challenging, and just a lot of fun. The landscapes in Bhutan are absolutely stunning, the history and culture fascinating, and the people incredibly generous. Life above the treeline is extraordinary. And World Tour Plan were an outstanding partner for this trip. From planning days with Mr Karma to enjoying the trek guided by Chencho Dorji and being carefully looked after by the crew Leki and Tshewang (their food is amazing!) - everything was smooth and well organised. The World Tour Plan team were always responsive and accommodating. They went above and beyond. And I am already planning my next Bhutan trek with them.

Once in a life time experiences

01-Jul-2024

We booked a trekking tour in Bhutan and Nepal through World Tour Plan. Mr. Karma was prompt, knowledgeable, and very helpful. We took the 10-day Annapurna Base Camp Trek in Nepal, followed by the 17-day Laya Gasa Trek in Bhutan. We are avid trekkers, yet these two experiences were very different. It was a unique and once-in-a-lifetime experience for us. Guide Shekhar in Nepal and Guide Kinley in Bhutan were quite friendly. To celebrate my husband's birthday, Leki prepared a special cake in a pressure cooker at an elevation of 4000 meters in Bhutan. It was a moving and lovely experience. Meeting Layaps on our walking trail and interacting with them was a fantastic experience too. Thank you, World Tour Plan.
